Why don't people talk about Nicki's use of prescription drugs?

So a lot has been said about Nicki Minaj's behaviour lately, especially her recent rant towards a young woman in her twitter DMs... I saw this video today where Joe Budden talks about how he thinks Nicki Minaj's behaviour could be explained through addiction and that he is worried about her health. Joe Budden had his own history with prescription drug use and says that he thinks Nicki might be struggling with the same thing.
 

He uses examples of Meek Mill talking about how he was using prescription pills when he was with Nicki - but that to me isn't strong evidence that she is taking prescription pills. I think the strongest evidence for that is in her own lyrics and in her previous statements:

Nicki Minaj's 2014 BET Awards acceptance speech:

"The other day, literally, I didn't tell anybody this, I really thought I was about to die. Like I was saying my prayers to die, and I didn’t even want to call the ambulance because I thought, “well, if I call the ambulance, it’s going to be on TMZ.”

On top of this Nicki's ex Safaree wrote a diss track accusing her of being addicted to prescription pills and also started this exchange on twitter:



Now none of this is conclusive evidence... It could just be Nicki rapping nonsense, her incident involving a near death experience could have been unrelated to drug use, her ex Safaree could just be talking ****.

Do you think Nicki's rumoured addiction to prescription pills is true? Is it something to be worried about? Do you think it could help explain some of her recent behaviour?

It was always her behavior.. maybe with those drugs it's going to the extreme but she was never an angel and always was violent..

She probably can't take the fact that none of her recent works are succesful. That is not something delightful thing to know for someone who always brag she is the queen and got all that big money easily from doing a feature cos she's the hot stuff. If anymore of her featurings in near future also not succesful, people will eventually stop using her in their song cos she is not bankable anymore.

Besides, she could take it personally that the new gurl in town can actually get #1 on BB100, something that Nicki been trying forever to no avail.

I cannot say much about drug use. But many of these celebs are living on fast lane. Wouldn't surprise me if she actually did.

Wealth also generally comes with fame and fame comes with a lot of downsides that many people don't see. Not being able to leave your house without being bombarded by the press, having your every move watched and analyzed by people you don't know, being constantly suspicious if the people closest to you are trying to leech off of your success, etc.

I think it's a really tough lifestyle and I know I wouldn't be able to handle it

Well I mean, depression knows no bounds and doesn’t care about economic status. 

That being said, I agree. I would much rather be depressed in a f*cking mansion surrounded by beautiful things and endless riches than be depressed driving to my bartending job in my Toyota Rav4

...because it's her use of them and it's very sad if she is abusing them but talking about it on pop forums and Twitter like a piece of gossip isn't helpful nor kind. We can judge her music, not her possible addictions.

Having the money to buy anything you want could actually have the opposite affect. Depression obviously has no boundaries

It's not that easy. Drug dealers are a part of the business. Showbiz is a Mecca for them. Anyone from club promoters, to drivers, to doormen, to VIP concierges can be “appropriately connected” with the “right people." Some of them even roam on the concert backstage. Sometimes it is their own manager or label owner who get them into this habit.

Plus, celebs and high profile figures are easy target for them because they are prone to anxiety and stress. Drugs ease people’s fears related to their social environment (‘Will I fit in?’), body image (‘Do I look fat?’), competency and effectiveness (‘Am I good enough?’),  and comparative success (‘What’s enough?’)

It always started with the dealers or any of their cronies trying to get you to try drugs. Once you hooked on it, there will be no freebies no more but you will be their client for life instead. Some night clubs or dealers would give freebies if the celebs allow them (the dealers and the club owners) to be part of their inner circle, and if they visited their night club for exposure, this way, the dealers can get more and more victims from the added contacts.  It is very systematic.
