“The Story of Adidon,” Pusha-T’s new Drake diss track, features artwork with a photo of the Toronto rapper in blackface. Now, Drake has issued a statement on his Instagram story explaining the image.

African Americans have an issue with bi-racial or light skin black people doing blackface too.

Regardless of whether her was justified or unjustified in participating in that photoshoot - Pusha has actually done a little damage if he has actually had to respond with a statement on Instagram.

Usually all Drake has had to do was shrug off criticism, but this has forced him to PR mode. Even Drake saying "I know everyone is enjoying the circus" is him essentially aknowledging, but trying to downplay, that Pusha's track has had impact and that he is the butt of everything this time around

Not saying Drake's career is over, but he has definitely lost this battle and he has taken a hit from this one. It could also end up hurting his album roll out and hurting his reputation a little.

True. He’s a master when it comes to responding to his enemies on social media. But this time something doesn’t feel right.  I still like Drake tho. And can’t wait to listen to his new album.

So is Obama, but the majority of people would identify them as black.

well that's stupid, don't understand why americans are so obsessed over race, he looks like a black guy so I bet he has suffered the same racism, it's not like racist people are all "wait you are bi racial, pardon me"

And you’re right. People won’t see him as a bi-racial person. Just black like Obama. But I think it comes down to “Colorism.” And “Colorism” is basically people outside (and within) the black community favoring those of lighter skin. But I really can’t speak on this issue. I’m not AA. I’m originally from the Caribbean. Just like Drake, I’m racially ambiguous. Have dark skin and white people in my family.

I’m actually nice.

African Americans (I personally prefer black) do not like black face, period.  Whether it's from someone of another race, bi racial, light skinned, or brown skinned.   We do not like it.  That being said, I remember when Aubrey did this photo shoot back in the day.  He is being authentic, and it was supposed to be disturbing.  While I'm not the biggest Drake fan,  I support the reason for the photo shoot. It's good thathe responded so quickly, as it was deeper than a couple pictures.

Thank you for responding. I felt like it was better for a black person (born in America) to speak on this issue. Since in the Caribbean we don’t have a white majority population. And I guess (I might be wrong since I moved to the states at the age of 15) blackface isn’t a big deal over there.

I’m actually nice.
