What made the GP stop being here for Britney?

Serious thread. No jokes please. Is it just a coincidence that the GP stopped caring about Britney because of her Vegas residency? It seems like no one knows she has released music since 2013. Her last big solo hit in in the US was '' I wanna go'' in June 2011.  My theory is that her last two albums flopped because she didn't promote her albums but she promoted Vegas residency instead.

1. Lack of promotion

2. Lack of vocal talent

3. Deterioration of dancing abilities. Nowadays Beyonce and Gaga can dance better than Britney, not to mention they are awesome vocalists.

I'm glad Britney is touring worldwide though. I actually like her music.

To be honest, her past few albums don’t even sound like her... More like an exaggerated caricature of her.

Here's the thing: Britney's career started to die when Justin used a look alike in his video. Misogynistic media started coming for her non-stop. It really affected her life. She started using drugs and made everything worse. The media kept going at her. Then she lost the custody of her kids. All of this while the media was suffocating her. She then comes with a nicely promoted and toned down era (Circus) and the general public is interested in her again. Her team managed to extend this success until 2011 with the Femme Fatale era. Let's not forget Femme Fatale was supposed to be an urban album but since she was doing cute numbers they called Dr. Luke and he toned down the album so it could be successful. She had a last chance in 2013 but Will.I.Am totally ****ed her 8th album with that 2010 dated ass sound. Not to mention she didn't have enough time to record all the vocals, there was Vegas shows coming and they set that girl that kinda sounds like her to complete the job. They marketed that damn album to be her most personal yet, trying to make it successful. But it was bullshit. The album failed rightfully so.

Her prime is pretty much over. She did what she wanted with Glory and that's it. She'll keep doing her Vegas thing but she won't have another successful era. She's been in the industry for 20 years after all. Not to mention she stopped singing live for a long time ago and her dance moves are done. Even Janet still put more of an effort at 52 than Britney at 35. At this point just let the woman take care of her kids and be a good mother. She doesn't care about her career anymore.

Judas is coming, let the cultural baptism begin.

isn't her vegas tour doing really well?

anyway i think her charting days are behind her but that's not a big deal imo, she should just focus on giving fans what they want instead of trying to appeal to the GP in an industry that's anti-pop rn

all the young ones want hip hop/rap/trap right now and it would seem so weird if she tried it

Why do pop fans (especially Brit's stans on ATRL) think that it is okay for Britney to flop after 18 years? Madonna still slayed the chart in 2005, 23 years into her career. Is it because people feel so bad for Britney that they have to use the ''18 years into her career'' excuse? Don't forget Beyonce had Lemonade 19 years into her career.

She's not that talented and Madonna put an effort.

again, what's up with the US and UK's love for hiphop and rap music?  What does the GP see in hiphop/rap?

Pop music is catchier and has better melodies.

true. Ironic how Britney doesn't care about her career now but on breatheheavy, her stans make like 1000 threads about how to make Glory a success...

Sooner or later the general public will get tired of this type of music and pop will shine again.

Madonna is an artist who enjoys what she does. I always feel bad for Britney, she has wanted to get out of the business for years (hence the breakdown)... been manufactured and bossed around by a team since she was child... She’s under contract and there is nothing she can do. She is owned. She compromised with the Vegas residency so she could at least have a stable place to raise her kids without being on the road all the time...
