With the release of Accelerate, I was thinking about how Xtina has dared to shift genres and make fusions to create her albums, something her contemporaries where more afraid to do at the time when she released Stripped, a latin-urban, R&B and hip hop fusion. Then she made Back To Basics, a jazz driven work with influences of R&B. Then the disgraced Bionic, which was an interesting Electro- Synthpop album. Her discography is very diverse in that sense.

But she's not the only artist known for those kind of moves . Gaga and Beyoncé have also been very motivated to include different genres in their own works. Gaga for example, is a Synthpop diva with a heart of a rockstar, and has a constant affair with jazz and a love for different kinds of music. Her albums have been also a canvas for the mix of pop music with other music styles. And Beyoncé has also dared to include new sounds in her music, and her two last albums have been successful attemps to mix her signature R&B - pop sound with other genres like country, jazz, hip hop, soul, Americana, among others.

Between these 3 artists from the last 3 decades, who do think has been the most experimental and daring with her discography and why? And who has had the most success by doing so?

Lady Gaga..

Xtina is not experimental, Xtina is basing her career on the shock value, it doesn't matter the song or the album..

Beyonce is not an artist, she's a performer.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

all artists have been selling us a product since day 1, Gaga isn't? :oprah: (not attacking you, just following up to what you said)

I don't see how Beyonce is experimental. She hasn't really done anything that hasnt been done before. She just lives off of the R&B/Pop blend mixed with her hype. Lauryn Hill was far more experimental and far more talented in that space.

Gaga.

at her prime Christina delivered eras and musical diversity, but the last decade she has been as dull as Britney when it comes to creativity.

Just listen to Xtina's albums. They all sound very much different from one another.

Some of these people have the holier than thou attitude just cos Gaga and their other faves wrote or co-wrote their own words and attacked those who don’t as if they are so lacklustre, when they’re not,  if only they realize how rare it is, especially in pop scenes, to have someone who actually write their own songs and how this industry majorly consisted of aspiring song writers and producers.
