IWBWU was not finished at all, the song was contruct but the production was not here, I think what we heard is just a demo, cause it's sound so different than the Swinfest version. Dope, is the mastered/finished and mixed version. For BN, GaGa said the song wasn't finished and she wanted to re-work it, that why the song wasn't appeared on ARTPOP. So both BN and this version of IWBWU are juste demos, nothing more. All of this is wrong but you can believe what you'd like to. It's a fact that Brooklyn Nights and IWBWU were finished, mixed, and mastered. Gaga herself stated that Brooklyn Nights was finished and that it was a last minute cut since she picked MJH over it. How else do you think the Brooklyn Nights stems leaked? The mixing engineers were compromised. Same thing for IWBWU, which was mixed by the same person who did Mary Jane Holland, Gypsy, and Venus all of which stems have leaked for.

Have stems doesn't mean anything, stems are just the whole work of a song, that all. And GaGa said precisely that she cut BN because she wanted to re-work it to put it on the ARTPOP application. And i'm sorry to tell you that, but IWBWU is just the demo of Dope.

IWBWU was its own song... Dope was just the reworked which was released. IWBWU was already finished but weeks before the album came out, the label asked her to make it "more personal" so she reworked it. It's really not rocket science. And yes, having stems does mean something. It tells exactly who was compromised. And the same person who mixed MJH/Venus/Gypsy also mixed IWBWU which is how this person got it. But hey... you do you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

However, her actual vocality and how she sings the song just isn't my cup of tea. Not a fan. Just curious as to how anyone could think Dope is lyrically amazing? I see that reiterated on this forum a lot and I don't understand it. Its not like its cleverly written. Its so literal in what its trying to convey and it doesn't come across as the least bit genuine.

Princess Die was cut by the label from what I know I vaguely remember Princess Die being apart of an early tracklisting for the album which was A LOT more cynical lyrically (as you could imagine based on Princess Die's suicidal subject matter), but the label didn't like how negative the vibe came across. They wanted her to make something a little brighter. So we got the album we have now. Thats why some monsters refer to like earlier incarnations of the album being darker or whatever before the changes and I think they assume like production wise and it makes them think that before the label intervened ARTPOP was originally going to be more in line with The Fame Monster or something but in actuality I don't think it was necessarily darker production wise at all. I think it was just darker lyrically with her being more cynical/negative. She had felt burned by people around her as well as the general public and the media. We get a taste of that cynicism with songs commenting on her scrutiny (Do What U Want, Applause) but thats about it.

Maybe being hit over the head with an anvil of pain is what some people prefer. Plus iwbwu is really just another btw or posh life. It's played out as a theme and gaga probably didn't want to revisit it for ARTPOP.

But its not just about subtlety though, Dope is every bit as corny and its a lot less genuine than IWBWY regardless of how corny that ones subject matter was as well. At least it was genuine. I mean Dopes subject matter is so stupid, her forced addressing of her recent dependency on weed cross-pollinated with a tacked on alcoholism nod. How anyone can listen to Dope and feel as though they're being hit over the head with an anvil of pain is beyond me because all I hear is poorly acted melodrama and its impossible to get past that to at least enjoy the lovely spare production. Every performance ive ever seen of Dope was a cringeworthy set filled with crocodile tears.
