What was the original LG5?

Well basically it was the original concept behind LG5 which was inspired by Darkness and the countess etc. 

- It contained 8 SKINNY redone songs (according to redone and few people who’ve heard the songs)Frankenstein, The futuristic horny bop(as described by redone) , the World Cup song etc. 

- She was working with Nile Rogers a lot too but it could just be for the chic album  

- It had bad romance 2.0(according to Elton John) 

And more... basically it was filled with bops (allegedly) but of course we’ll never know

I don't think it was as good as people thought it would be.

Maybe Frankenstein is the Grammy-worthy song, that Gaga is still considering to release even after Joanne's release. But I'm not sure the entire album as a whole was good.

If the project was scrapped, I'm sure it's mainly because Gaga and her team were not happy with the results. They probably didn't want an ARTPOP 2.0 scenario. Say what you want about Joanne, but it was more critically-acclaimed than ARTPOP. At least it received Grammy nominations 

Imagine if LG5 was actually something like Katy Perry's Witness. It would've been suicidal for Gaga to release it.

I wanna add,

Gaga's rise to greatness will happen. Joanne paved the way for that. It paved the way for the GP to perceive her differently, for the SuperBowl to happen, for her to be perceived as a more mature artist, ahead of the release of ASIB.

I wanna highlight this quote from a critical review of Joanne album, that I find very meaningful:

"Even with all her extracurricular endeavors paying off cultural dividends, Gaga's greatest achievement is yet to come, and Joanne, flaws and all, feels like the necessary step to get there."

There was no "original LG5". Album's themes, concepts, and ideas change over time. Just like the other albums did.
This is what we do know about LG5's recording process up until the October 2016 release.

As far as we know we don't know when she started recording new music for a follow up project to ARTPOP but she makes music all the time whether that be in writing, recording, etc. So she could've had ideas and song concepts already even before ARTPOP came out and was finished.

What we do know:

- In January 2015 she worked w/ RedOne where they did 8 songs together [According to RedOne], one of them was Angel Down: 

- In January also, Giorgio Moroder talked about working with her on her next album:

- In November 2015 she was spotted w/ Mark Ronson.

We had audio from their session in 2015 recorded outside the studio by fans [Who wouldn't stop whispering ] The song imo sounded so beautiful and I wish we could've known more about it and had it on the album.

- In March 2016 she was spotted with Mark again:

- Throughout the next few months, we got several candids of her being with Mark. 

- In May 2016 Mark posted on his instagram w/ the caption "illusion" We can assume they recorded Perfect Illusion that day. Since Kevin Parker & Bloodpop are spotted in that same photo.

So who knows what concepts she had in 2013, 2014, 2015. Maybe she had the stripped down album concept all along, maybe she came up with the concept of a more stripped down album when she worked with Mark in 2015. Maybe she came up with it in March, we won't know unless she tells us.

There was no "original LG5". An "original LG5" would imply that she had a complete concept figured out, finished, and done and ready to release, but her label scrapped it and she had to start over with an entirely new vision. Even then it doesn't mean it was the "original" album.

Most of the "original LG5" concepts fans spew over and over were made up by fans  Just because she was on AHS and talked about how darkness was inspiring her, maybe it did and maybe she did do a few songs in that field. It was just an early version of her 5th album. Who knows if she was planning to work with RedOne for the entire LG5 album. Maybe she was just trying things out w/ him again to see if something could work.  Angel Down probably stuck with her the most out of the 8 RedOne songs she did so she probably worked on finishing it w/ Mark.

Because to my knowledge, gaga got the SB because of her incredible National Anthem, and up until super bowl, no one was paying attention to Gaga or Joanne
