Once the GP gets bored of them, they switch to something fresh and new. If you manage to not be a one hit wonder and actually last 5-10 years or more, you're lucky. For example, how is Lorde seen strictly in my country, or at least how she was. Royals was the big debut, she was everywhere, everything fine. Then you had Team, it failed to match the airplay of the previous single and it bombed on charts. Then they stopped playing her next singles and then forget about her and move on to something else.
