Fair. but this is arguably hateful speech (minimally it discriminatory against some minorities and it plays on clichés and straight up lies) and a tv channel would never air such a thing in Canada, just for reputational reasons alone. You may think the US are the greatest but the country is also one of the western world ones where inequalities between rich and poor are the highest and where health services are the hardest to access, let alone in a affordable way. Canada (government) would not police that. The people, the tv channels, the companies, would choose not to associate with people who have beliefs like that, and would never give them a voice. They would quickly run out of money and platforms to spread their hate. Its not policing or infringing on one's freedom of expression: it's about a society able to say no when someone crosses a line. There is a difference. I'm not even talking about Trump. I would say the same thing whether Trump existed or not. The fact that those politicians (like this lady) have such a strong voice and power is appalling. This country has been sliding into intolerance, inequality and regressive beliefs for a long time now. Dirty and unethical tactics are used by both sides. This ad does not define any person living in the state, deep red county or not. Political ads are the worst.
