I went to an all-boys catholic high school and they're homophobic AF.

This. A Catholic all-boys school is likely to be a more traditional and conservative environment (not exactly a place that welcomes or even approves of LGBT, having boys or girls only schools is a pretty traditionalist concept.

Masculinity isn't toxic, I'm not sure where this attack on men and masculinity has come from all of a sudden? 

Yep, a lot of people use religion as a shield for what they say - but doesn't mean everyone who is religious is homophobic. 

Many who support or voted for Trump aren't homophobic - hence Twinks4Trump etc. 

It IS insulting to equate being gay to being weak, like it is to equate being female to being weak.

That's just pathetic if people really do do that, but I don't know anyone who does that, plus I've never heard of it. So it must be very rare. If you're using that as an example as to why masculinity is bad, then I could use the very few feminists who think all men should be put in concentration camps and just allow visits from their spouses/mothers as an example as to why feminism is bad. 

Some people might use the vague umbrella term of "masculinity" to excuse bad/silly behavior, but it is wrong to say that masculinity is toxic. If someone was to say femininity among men is toxic they would face a backlash. I find masculinity attractive, and wish I was more masculine.

boys are taught from a very young age to attack every and anything in order to seem masculine. its definitely toxic and extremely fragile. my friend was in boy scouts and felt embarrassed at how loud his peeing was! he was told he's gay because his dad had died when he was young. its this "boys will be boys" culture.
