Catholic High School Uses Racist/Homophobic Slurs At Basketball Game

Local all-male Catholic high school, Elder, located in Cincinnati, Ohio caught using racial/homophobic slurs at players against opposite team's players. It apparently went on for 3 quarters and wasn't stopped until the opposite team's coach approached them. Nobody was severely punished for the situation and a half-arsed apology was sent out (seen in article) for being racist and no apology was sent out for the homophobic slurs. I'm not surprised about this as I went there multiple years ago and was outed by a couple students and was scolded and made fun of by the majority of the student body. Luckily, I got out of there and spent my junior and senior year elsewhere and had a much better experience at a different high school.

They probably weren't being homophobic, they were likely just using terms that are homophobic as a way to call someone weak (like when someone says "you throw like a girl" - "you throw like a fruit" etc.). The one about the Asian kid can't be excused or explained in anyway, though. They should know better.

What did we expect :trollga:

Not sure how any of these 3 denote that one is inclined to be racist and homophobic?

It's homophobic and insulting to equate being weak to being gay.

catholic: religion and homophobia DO go hand in hand. It's pretty on the nose.

All-male: toxic masculinity, very unlikely many students at this school are openly LGBT.

Ohio: trump won the election here.

pretty sure all of these factors correlate to the homophobia that was exhibited in this article.

I went to an all-boys catholic high school and they're homophobic AF.

Cincinnati is generally a conservative place. All of the gays are in Columbus, Cleveland, etc (like me :bon:)

That whole school is probably having secret affairs. :trollga:

I mean the school does have a history of their past principal (who was a priest) and other priest/teacher hybrids that molested the students back in the 70s and 80s. This school is just jacked up!
