NotMyFlop 1,979
tbh, i think her “greatest” is behind her. while everyone has individual tastes and her next work will surely be the favorite of many, i truly don’t think she cares at this point to make masterpieces. While she was making ARTPOP her manager left her, in a way I think that she was more angry than sad. That’s why the album has these heavy beats and really gives off these rage-y vibes. That’s just my opinion tho Troy left a few days before ARTPOP dropped, though.

Twitter 14
Even though the final JWT dates were cancelled. Joanne was still a very strong era with all the amazing things she has done. So idc if she drops LG6 in 2022 and tours in 2023.

What I meant is that Troy and the rest of her management treated her like an object rather than a human being. They didn’t believe in her artistry, they just wanted the money. Thus, the anger. She absolutely has the potential. But she's going in a direction that feels right for her and not what the fans, gp, Grammy officials expect from her. So she hopefully isn't going to make a bop for the sake of making a bop and is going to stick to being true to herself. I mean, that's what I think anyway. I now believe that Joanne is a sign of what's to come with future eras but with smaller tours unfortunately.

I mean, take Gypsy, for example. That first demo is so lyrically beautiful and intimate and came from a place of pain. I'd say the Aura demo she leaked follows a similar path. I really just think ARTPOP was where she was very lost and unsure of where she wanted to go or take the album so she wrote a lot of stuff unsure of what she was feeling and why she was in so much pain. But if you look at BTW, TFM, and Joanne, I think there's some good examples of her better focusing her emotions. I'd also say even beyond her own music, look at the way she arranged standards. Her Bad Romance performance for Tony was heartbreaking, and Lush Life was intense. She also channels it into the performance and I think ARTPOP excelled in the intense performances she would give. Omg, me too. That's the most perfect genre for her. But I also love her when she's at the piano.

Not really. ARTPOP was hated by the GP and in a way she lost credibility as an artist in their eyes, but she brought it back with C2C.

I don't know how I can say it any clearer. Liking how you're pulling out the 'music is healing for Gaga' thing as though that's what this thread was about. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!
