It's like they didn't understand soon enough that Lady Gaga should have a ballad as a lead single, specially after two years where she tried so hard to showcase her vocalist abilities. And now they are trying to fix that up by making MR last more than a year. Perfect Illusion is the most "commercial" song from the album though, so I understand why it was chosen. The video is one of her best ever. Really. The song could be a bit better. It gets tiring very easily. It's just ok. I'm still very bitter that her collab with Kevin Parker resulted in just this. A-yo would more than insinuate that the album would have a country/rock vibe. PI sounded very retro, rock, pop,... we still didn't know what the album would sound like.
