Experimental. Radio music is boring nowadays. Everything sounds the same.

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

Radio friendly and experimental are not opposites though.

Some of Gaga's song are definitely not experimental but also definitely not radio friendly (G.U.Y., Perfect Illusion for example).

From a musical and songwriting standpoint, hardly any of her material could ever be considered experimental, the only thing that makes it sound experimental & unusual is the instrumentation, production & arrangement.

What about Bloody Mary, HML, Electric Chapel, Aura?

Why do her 'experimental' song only sound , but aren't experimental?

I find this comment kinda funny cos this has been said, like, since forever :toofunny:

People would've said the same during the dance-bop days of Gaga & Black eyes peas etc

and would've been said in the 80s 'glory' days about all the popular songs then aswell :laughga:

Aura I think is probably her most complex from a songwriting perspective/melodically. Bloody Mary, HML & Electric Chapel are all quite conservative in structure and melody.

They sound experimental because of instrumentation (gregorian chants in Bloody Mary, the prominent electric guitar & chorus where the instrumentation drops out mostly in Electric Chapel, excessive vocal layering, auto-tune & effects along with disharmonic synths on Heavy Metal Lover).

Gaga always includes experimental elements in her radio friendly songs but she also always incorporates radio friendly aspects to her most experimental songs.

One second the experimental is in the radio friendly then suddenly the radio friendly is in the experimental

Both !

People needs to remember The Fame / The Fame Monster were very experimental and created a deep dance / pop trend at that time

If you mean DIC vs The Cure... then DIC all the way!

Spoiler

I always feel like radio-friendlyGa is a bit forced (I.e. The Cure, Do What You Want, Telephone etc.)
