Why has "...Ready for it?" flopped?

Well, 143M views is really good so idk if I can call it a flop, but LWYMMD is +700M, Blank Space +2Md,... I heard LWYMMD a lot of times on radio, once I heard Gorgeous as well but I've never heard Ready for it.

I'm kind of surprised because I think this is the best song of Reputation, it's better than LWYMMD anyway and, I mean, this is a total bop!

My opinion is that, the MV screwed it up. It's good production and whatever but I'm not even sure I understood what it is about and it's really slow and there's not many different plans like in LWYMMD. The promo might have been less good as well, but considering how epic LWYMMD was for a lead, it's surprising that RFI didn't follow the same path.

It's not a catchy/good song IMO. I don't think the album has any songs that are hits. LWYMMD was a "comeback" single steeped in drama with a crazy video. You're right, the Ready For It video probably didn't help since it was boring and made no sense.

Edit: She might be able to have another hit with the one with all the features/Ed Sheeran. I forgot the name of it. It's kinda good. lol.

It debuted at #4 Billboard Hot 100 with 4 days of tracking week and 4 days of streaming week.

It could have been debuted at #1 if it had a full tracking week. Plus the MV came out like almost 2 months after the song lmao:neyde:

The video came out 2 months after the release plus i dont think watching her cosplaying Ghost in the Shell is that interesting

I know a lot of people were turned off by LWYMMD. I think the era itself could have been as big as 1989 if she had released End Game as the lead (as it and NYD are the only songs on Reputation that I bothered listening to again:whitney: .)

Its noisy and unpleasant for radio listeners. Her Judas indeed

That’s an interesting comparison that I hadn’t thought of... but yeah I think you might be right.

She's trying to rap. It doesn't work for her, and it makes her sound absolutely terrible.

I heard it quite a few times on the radio here in Seattle. Honestly I don’t think it’s a flop. It just doesn’t play it nonstop on the radio like it has with some of her other songs

you might be right, it's not the type of tropical trap radios love to play these days

Interestingly, her label chose Gorgeous as the single in my country.

As far as RFI views, the video kind of sucks. The chorus is catchy but the production isn't radio friendly. It's a song only fans can love ...
