Bebe 17,289
Donald Trump’s personal banking information has formally been turned over to Robert Mueller, the special prosecutor who is investigating whether the president’s campaign conspired with the Kremlin during the 2016 presidential election. Bloomberg reported early on Tuesday that Deutsche Bank, the German bank that serves as Trump’s biggest lender, had been forced to submit documents about its client relationship with the president after Mueller issued the bank with a subpoena for information. The new revelation makes it clear that Mueller and his team are investigating the president’s financial transactions. It is not clear whether Mueller is interested in the bank accounts because they are connected to the Russia probe or if he is investigating another matter. Deutsche Bank did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The bank told Bloomberg in a statement that it always cooperated with investigating authorities. The news could also elicit a strong reaction from the president, who has previously said that any attempt to investigate his personal business dealings would go beyond Mueller’s investigative mandate and would represent a “violation”. Trump has consistently denied any collusion between his campaign and Russia and has stated that he did not have any business dealings in Russia. Since then, news has emerged that the Trump Organization sold a significant number of its properties to Russian clients and explored opening a hotel in Moscow, though the plan never came to fruition. ....The development nevertheless represents a significant blow to the president personally and indicates that Mueller is not limiting his probe to Trump campaign officials. Bebe 17,289
Another interesting take: Much of the investigation so far has focused on contacts between officials in the Trump campaign and transition with Russian officials and representatives. However, documents uncovered in the probe do touch on the President’s business, including a former associated Felix Sater telling Trump Organization lawyer Michael Cohen that in pursuing a real estate deal in Moscow he “will get Putin on this program and we will get Donald elected.” Deutsche Bank has also come under scrutiny for activities in the same world it shares with Trump, real estate investment. It is currently under investigation by the Department of Justice for an alleged scheme where it did not stop wealthy Russians from laundering $10 billion out of Moscow. The bank was fined more than $630 million for its lack of oversight by a British financial authority and the New York Department of Financial Services. Trump is connected to worries about money laundering through the Trump SoHo project, where Sater was also involved and multiple apartments were sold to the families of Kazakh billionaires Viktor Khrapunov and Mukhtar Ablyazov. Khrapunov and Ablyazov say they are being persecuted by authorities in Kazakhstan, though have been accused of laundering $6 billion out of the Central Asian country through investments around the world, including other New York properties. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/robert-mueller-subpoenas-trump-info-deutsche-bank-article-1.3678229

Uh-oh. Watch out Mueller Imagine if we all had that kind of illusion of privilege You go to jail 'cause the police found a bloody knife in your kitchen and while you're standing trial for a murder that you definitely committed, you expect to get off totally free 'cause you toooold those cops to stay out of the drawer What a jackass tbh. You can't pick and choose what evidence is or isn't used against you He knows he's committed plenty of financial crimes in his day and he's scared. Hopefully he's put away for a few of them. Hopefully for good. Whimsical bitch
