Monster is a little too repetitive and simple...

Dance in the Dark is edgy, complex, THAT INTRO, and overall would be a different sound for her instead of making a darker sounding Poker Face

Dance in the Dark. I don't care if it would have flopped or not. It deserved a video. It would have been looked back on as iconic, much more so than a generic song like Monster could have been.

Monster should have been selected as final single. It would have slayed on its own. Or DITD also would have slayed but with a killer music video and promos. 

 

speechless is only good as album track. Some songs just spark on their own this is that. As a single it wouldn't have fit the dark era concept

Monster of course. I remember that in Spain they were playing the song on the radio and anounced it like it was the next movement from Gaga. One of my closes friend at that time loved the song and she did not even like Gaga, she was like part of the general public.

Another thing. Dance In The Dark is an amazing song and could have been a great choice as well but Monster was like the master piece of that album, behind Bad Romance of course.

DITD's commercial performance where it was released is proof it was probably too abrasive for radio.

Monster would have been a monster success.
