I don't see how she could have sung over ready for it's instrumental in the verses but if you see it, enlighten us with a remix :gaysia:

That will be up for 5 seconds before tay sues you :selena:

Imagine her using the talk-rap style for Shake It Off. Does that sound fitting? No.

And I am not a Taylor hater or anything. I like a ton of her songs over the course of her career, but these new songs sound like **** to me.

Oh, I think Taylor usually has decent music. I think after 1989 that it was overplayed and she became overexposed, so it was a tad annoying to even want to listen to her. But this new stuff is just not my cup of tea. And I don't follow her either, but I think dedicating an entire album era to her haters and the snake crap and all that crap will grow tiresome real quick.

I don't think she should focus on some silly feud that no one else even cares about.

Very.

Why do you think I bought 1989? :giggle:

and she seems to continue with Reputation so I am not stopping yet.

Sort of.

I wish she had evolved in pop music more smoothly. 1989 was so well executed, and I wish she had taken some elements of it and explore it in other ways. I was expecting a more dream pop approach, "New Romantics" style. That would be the most amazing album for her.

Instead, she's doing something totally different, a combination of aggressive pop genres, dance and pop and industrial and synth and bubblegum... But I'm still very curious about the album in a whole.

Taylor is going to put out a stellar album every album cycle. I don’t really see her flopping until she decides to quit. And there is no reason for her to at this rate, her music is great every album cycle.

I voted "Yes" for music direction overall.

But I said this on every single since the first (i.e LWYMMD): The lyrical quality has considerably gone down.

Ready For It and Call it What You Want are decent, but just compare it to her older work. It's a step down imo.

But fortunately Taylor has been serving bops and incredible visuals. So I'm not totally disappointed. But it's kinda sucky cuz you see other artists not only evolving (like Taylor is rn) but also improving (unlike Taylor) :cryga:

e.g. Lorde, Halsey, Gaga etc.

No...shes trying to be a bad girl, but she already is...

The songs releasedd this far are very basic and nothing groundbreaking....she makes up for it in insane visuals

Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify!

I don't get her new "direction". It's like she's going everywhere and throwing away singles to see what sticks

REALITY

Honestly, I'm not really feeling this era. Aesthetically, I love it. The videos are amazing, but songs themselves are either okay, or just not good. LWYMMD I think had great potential for the chorus. The verses and pre-choruses were amazing, but the chorus itself was rather lack-luster. I don't like RFI, though I did like the music video. I actually am starting to like Gorgeous quite a bit, but the bridge for me is still a bit awkward. CIWYW was a pretty good song in my opinion too.

Her songs, I will say, all sound similar, at least they do to me. I don't know, but none of them (except for LWYMMD, maybe) have their own identity or style.

Quite frankly, I'm not

Spoiler

(Despite my thread about Gorgeous, which was a satirical thread btw) :bon:

I think she's a very talented songwriter, and 1989 was a solid pop record. But, as many have said, these songs sound like rejects and bland songs that an artist leaves for the Deluxe version (Except Gaga, who decided to leave JAD off the official tracklist for no reason).

The instrumentals are the only thing that stand out, but the lyrics are childish and cringy. She should go back to country music, a genre where she shines the most.
