Lines like “While Gaga’s Joanne album wasn’t the success she was hoping for...” really ****ing bother me. These writers always make it a point to talk about how Joanne wasn’t “as successful.” When did Gaga explicitly state that she wanted it to be a huge success? Maybe she just wants people to appreciate it. No mention of her talent. No mention of her change in direction. No mention the positive critical reception which contrasts the negative reception she had been experiencing.
