Associates of President Trump and his company have turned over documents to federal investigators that reveal two previously unreported contacts from Russia during the 2016 campaign, according to people familiar with the matter.

In one case, Trump’s personal attorney and a business associate exchanged emails weeks before the Republican National Convention about traveling to an economic conference in Russia that would be attended by top Russian financial and government leaders, including President Vladimir Putin, according to people familiar with the correspondence.

In the other case, the same Trump attorney, Michael Cohen, received a proposal in late 2015 for a Moscow residential project from a company founded by a billionaire who once served in the Russian Senate, these people said. The previously unreported inquiry marks the second proposal for a Trump-branded Moscow project that was delivered to the company during the presidential campaign and has since come to light.

Definitely shocked :giggle: What else did people expect. The giant pile of evidence has been there as early as Feb or March and has been growing rapidly since then. It's just the fact that he's a white guy with the magical R next to his name that lets him get away with anything.

I can't prove anything I'm going to write, it's just my opinion on the matter and here it goes.

I think that one of the main things Putin and his government achieved throught he first year of Trump's presidency is the lack of any actions that would aim to hold Russia's influence in Syria and to dethrone al-Assad.

In 2013, the USA were one step away from military action against Damascus. CNN had articles like: Syria. Who would take over after al-Assad?

In 2017, al-Assad regime is regaining its control over Syrian territory, slowly, step-by-step, aided by Russia airforces. The USA Administration just watches. The Telegraph: Donald Trump ends covert CIA aid to Syrian rebels in 'win' for Russia. The National: The US  fell out with three of the main factions leading the charge against the regime. Al-Assad may hold presidency over tortured and ruined country, but he still holds the power and he is as far from his downfall as he has never been during the war.

Putin has somehow :poot: managed to achieve US Administration indifference on the issue of Syria. He has helped Iran to lift sanctions and helped them negotiate a nuclear deal so that Iran joins Syrian war on al-Assad's side. Putin has kept Israel out of the war by promising them the Golan Heights. He is tyring to keep Turkey out of the war by putting a new gas pipeline to EU through Turkey and informing Erdogan of the coup. He is playing agressively against the Saudi monarchy by increasing the oil production, helping to inflict a blow at the oil prices, so that he can later play an important part in negotiation of oil output cuts.

I mean, look at him, he means to help al-Assad win the Syria war for whatever reasons. So I don't think it was a simple deal with Trump: like, look, I help you win, you withdraw all the sanctions against me. It's probably the Syrian war that was promised.
