That's so cool I wish I was there too What do you remember?

That this chick is crazy and dirty (literally; Chicago is super humid and gross lol) and I'm 10,000% for it. The metal-y vibe coupled with her music was great and what you can't see in that video is that people were actually having a great time. Definitely one of the better small stages from that year. It was hilarious to me when she blew up a year later. I was like, "AY I KNOW HER." I felt like a true hipster/trendsetter. tbh the most memorable thing was just HOW comfortable she was despite being a smaller act and not that known yet. She must have known people weren't there to see her and she still worked her stage like she does today. Same swagger (albeit a little more grit and slightly less refined), exuding charisma. It was really obvious that she thought the world of herself (in the best way).

I can't believe how amazing it must've felt for you to see her first music videos and succeed the way she did. You're one of the first monsters. Well, I wasn't a hardcore fan until Bad Romance, but I do remember telling people to check out Poker Face before it blew up because people were feeling Just Dance and I was like, "this one's even better; seriously." But that was me just speaking from musical taste and not being a hardcore fan. She really didn't blow me away musically until the VMA performance of Paparazzi and then Bad Romance following it. I remember the melody being teased on her SNL stint and thought it was really great. It's funny when people say her music and image don't really line up and for awhile there I'd agree. Her fashion was always dope but I think she really found something memorable and unique Fame Monster onward that fit her as an artist. It's been a dope ride for sure. Actually, same thing happened with Chance the Rapper and Bastille. I'd been into them for a few years before they made it big and then seeing them bigger now is really heartwarming. With Gaga it's a whole other thing since I was 12 when I first saw her Lolla set and I'm 22 now.
