we're home, we won't get out, i believe our place is secure, what's mostly dangerous is going out in the streets or living near rivers, more worried about those people  

Some places of our country did not even know a hurricane was coming, a lot of us are not so well informed, and it feels bad to just sit and watch, ugh.

Edit: I ask this because, this being an island in the Caribbean..you kinda expect them to have houses built to withstand hurricane damage. 

I know in my Province (Ontario) hospitals and schools built last few decades can almoat withstand armageddon tbh. My company builds them and the steel we use for them is super thick. Its suppostu withstand 7X the worst natural disasters ever recorded in the Province (Hurrican Hazel probably being the worst)

 

but homes... a category 5???

 

maybe in streets if your house isnt a corner house and wind is coming from the side and homes beside you block most of the wind

 

tbh i dont see how most homes can withstand that but i could be wrong

Sounds like the hospital would serve as a refuge if a disaster like Irma hit the area.
