Knife 7,107
Are there any structures that can withstand a category 5 hurricane? Edit: I ask this because, this being an island in the Caribbean..you kinda expect them to have houses built to withstand hurricane damage.

Houses here and in the Caribbean are built with hurricanes in mind just like houses in California are built with earthquakes in mind or houses in Oklahoma are designed with storm shelters for tornadoes. Human engineering can only do so much though and winds of nearly 200mph can and probably will decimate anything that isn't a solid and extremely sturdy block of metal and concrete. Unfortunately, that means most residential areas get totally wiped out OT: This plus the fact that it's predicted to be a cat. 4 (150mph winds) when the eye passes within a few miles of my town definitely has my heart beating a few ticks faster. Stay safe, everyone we're going to need a hell of a rebuild after this one. Whimsical bitch
