JDi 1,495
2 minutes ago, maxmore said: well her style references are clearly retro (60s,50s) and play with the housewife/mistress archetype which is what she's been singing about in preBTD, BTD und UV. she almost never shows too much skin; she often dresses quite conservatively, so when she does get slutty, its much more interesting than when popstars who are already in a bikini do it. theres a video of her singing cherry and lolita and the crowd completely loses it when she 'drops it low'. other outfits are more reminiscent of woodstock, sexual revolution, janis joplin (mainly the 'happier' 'more colorful' ones). tbh im too lazy atm to look for pictures and post them here. im not an expert in fashion myself, but somehow i can really connect to her fashion choices. yeah I get the 50s 60s 70s theme. it's essential to her music and it's cool that she sticks to it but on stage it just doesn't feel like the "less is more" that she's going for. she could be more creative. those decades weren't that... empty. I think she looks at that time as it was depicted in magazines and film. that's probably why someone told her that she "doesn't understand the freedom land of the 70s." she's kind of making her world look lonelier than she aims to... idk it gets kind of boring and feels like a **** you can't wait to get over with. she can easily get straight guys in the audience hooked but her fans are mostly gay men so I always found it odd how they remain entertained. they look at her as a painting? or do a trick, pretend that they are her until it clicks? FfFfFfFF 55,754
I feel like people in this thread have unreal expectations from her. You don't have the same experience as a Gaga stan with Lana because she is different and doesn't fit the celeb trends. She also have a very different persona and even a different commercial target than Gaga (Gaga is the one associated with avant-garde outfits and they feel right with her, and you can also expect costumes from Rihanna, Madonna etc but I think from different perspectives including this one Lana is not a mainstream pop artist). Personally as a Lana fan my interests for her are 75% pure musical.

LordEnigma 11,313
Let's look at your selfies vs everyday you. She looks good to me either way and some women don't feel the need to slave away at themselves to make the gheys happy.
Bio 23,538
She just doesn't have good taste when it comes to clothes. Her red carpets are always a mess too. But the music is great so that's what matters.

umaru 155
Idk why people are so angry about this? You make a point. She is a beautifual woman, and it would not be hard for her to consistently wear simple, pretty vintage clothes and accesories. There's no need for costumes/gowns, but she could be a little more presentable with rarely any effort. She's a pretty gal and her clothes should only bring out that beauty. HANZ 4,380
she's basic while performing her visuals on her videos are stunning but she can't do much on stage and her wearing that on tour doesn't help My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48

elijahfan 26,129
Well, I know it was ages ago, but when I saw her live in 2012 I was completely in love - she looked both sexy and accessible.
SiliconeMonster 1,617
When I saw her in San Diego 2 weeks ago she wore Adidas pants, heels and a t-shirt. She looked mad cute and comfy. I'm not complaining. Now if Gaga started doing the same with her tours I'd riot Find your freedom in the music
