Yea, but like the documentary you referenced, I do feel like there's a target over South Korean, American, and Japanese individuals that could heighten the risk. Like I said, I would never travel there unless the government changes (and even then, probably not due to distance). If the local population of a dictatorial country doesn't learn that it can be better, e.g. by tourists visiting them and not being as mean or as poor as they thought all Americans/Westeners were, then the threat to the regime itself lessens. In that way, tourism can be a good way to while indirectly contributing to the industries committed to killing its own citizens. See yourself as propaganda against the dictature that can convince people that it's not that bad in the 'imperialist' West. and to be honest, anyone who travels to North Korea and does something as stupid as trying to make people Christian... it's just dumb. Every tour operator stresses at every pre-travel meeting that religious books and Bibles have no place in North Korea and that you're putting not just your own life, but also the lives of the tour guides at risk. I entered North Korea and at the airport they selected a few devices on which they wanted to see videos and pictures, though they only watched videos on my iPad in the end. The only video I had was the Applause video. He watched for about a minute and a half with the sound off, looking at me with bewilderment.
