Why do things always have to derail into "damn those stupid Americans!1!1!!!" territory on GGD 

Anyways. This is sad. As much as they are prisoners and prison simply isn't a luxury, this is still wrong and can qualify as torture to some. You have to realize that much of the US gets humid (moreso than most of Europe) in the summers and the heat index often feels much warmer than the actual temperature reads. Factor in the building architecture itself, the location the facility is in relation to the sun, and you've got yourself a recipe for disaster  They need to get help soon!

It's just a joke. It's a joke based on an inconvenience of converting the measurements. Not the fault of the americans who use it currently. And there are also enough jokes of european countries,  and even jokes from european countries about european countries. No need to be triggered. Germans also have to take a lot of mean jokes. 

Yes it is an inconvenience sometimes, No it's not groundbreaking, No it's not the fault of somebody on here, No I did not intent to call someone seriously retarded. So let's take the joke,  live happy together and focus on the topic.

Ok ive lived in Portugal and now I live in Canada and I can tell you Europes Heat is completely different from North American heat

 

In much of North America the summers are extremely humid. It feels like a jungle. The air is heavy, its hard to breathe and feels much hotter than it is. In fact our weather reports always have the actual temperature, and beside it theres the "humidex" which is what it feels like. We have had days with humidex as high as 50 celcius!!!!

 

30 to 32 celcius in Toronto is way more unbearable than 35C+ that i felt in Portugal all the time!!!

 

In Europe u go under a tree or go into a cement home you get some limited relief... Here in Canada you cannot escape the heat anywhere unless u have AC

 

I was able to be in homes without AC in Portugal and managed, here when someone doesnt have it on it is TORTURE!!!!

 

Believe me me 100F which is well into the 30s in celcius here is very hard to bear

They are criminals!  They failed to contribute to society and have probably caused grief in other people's lives.  Prison isn't luxury...although movies and tv shows portray it that way.

most ppl that i met that went to jail, it was for far more trivial things

 

Here in Canada condition standards in jails are high tho. This wouldnt have been tolerated in any Province and i know many States in US dont either

That's inhumane! Prisoners or not they're still human with human rights!
