StrawberryBlond 14,213
Show how much support that Will had that he got that #1 even after the last minute deletion. Can't say I'm overly impressed with the song, but at least justice prevailed. Just reviewed Alexandra Burke's album charting in full. Debut week - #18 with 6,731 copies sold. Second week - #74 with 2,275 copies sold. Third week - #92 with 1,565 copies sold. Fourth week - Fallen out the charts. Total copies sold: 10,571. Jesus Christ. I agree completely with your sentiments regarding Maroon 5. Most boring band in existence, and Levine is nothing special Also, glad to see Stooshe still in the top 10! Oh the irony of seeing those two statements next to each other
craig 680
Burke went from selling over 813k copies of her debut in the UK, to falling off the chart before she sold 13k. That's the steepest decline I can recall.

StrawberryBlond 14,213
Burke went from selling over 813k copies of her debut in the UK, to falling off the chart before she sold 13k. That's the steepest decline I can recall. What's worse is that her first album isn't even making a comeback on the charts. When many artist have a new album out, their previous albums usually make an appearance again because buyers are suddenly interested in seeing what else they had to offer. If that doesn't happen, it's a bit of a concern. Now, understandably, this doesn't happen as much for X Factor stars, but whenever JLS release a new album, their older ones start charting again and they came second to Alexandra, so it's not as if she's too old a winner for the public to remember anymore. It must just be that the public have forgotten about her. The fact she took so long to release a follow-up was likely a big part of it. The average X Factor star makes an album every one and a half - two years, winner or not. You have to keep that public interest. One Direction already have a follow up planned for later this year to cash in on the US demand and JLS are about to release their fourth album in four years. It may seem desperate and money grabbing, but that's what you have to do. Alexandra took two years and eight months to release her second album and that time killed off any support she had. I'm worried for Leona's future sales, as her upcoming album has been pushed back and pushed back to the point where she'll be releasing it a whopping three years after her last (lackluster) one. Apparently, Simon was so busy with the US X Factor as well as Britain's Got Talent and keeping track of the UK X Factor in his absence that he had no time for Alexandra. According to her, he just decided to let her be in control of her own music because that's what she wanted. But judging by the fact that only two songs were co-written by her, I think Alexandra was perhaps embellishing the truth on that. The album obviously took as long as it did because Alexandra and her label wanted to wait a while to see what music trends were emerging so she could copy them and be successful. She promised that it would be an album that would take risks and there is not one taken on this soul-less album. It's clear that even she doesn't know who she is and that's rather sad.
