So your disagreeing with how big Justin Timberlake's two albums were? Or are you talking about Beiber? A little confused

Disagreeing about Bieber.

You would have been a kid when Britney and NStink's (as they were know to haters) sales peaked, and this shielded somewhat from young adult opinion.

No individual got quite the heat as Bieber, because it was divided between 2 boy bands - Justin's and the Backstreet Boys.

I don't get your point, my friends and I would still blast Justin Timberlake and I remember my sister's friends (older than I) blasting him when they were in middle school/early high school.

He was pretty universally popular. Hell, even my parents loved him.

No one ripped him to shreds every 2 seconds like they do with Bieber. But then again, you also tried comparing Bieber's polarizing image to The Beatles.

I believe that was Missy Elliot :)

oh and Aaliyah.

SexyBack came out in 2005 and really did lead to almost every other artist using Timbaland as a producer or a feature. Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous did too.

Oh okay, that's what I thought.

Yeah, Justin had WAAAAY more credibility in the industry even in his corny NSYNC days

I hope Lana Del Rey's National Anthem actually gets promo. From the looks of the video trailer, it's gonna be really good, I hope it gets noteriety and at least a Video of the Year nom. I also hope it charts top 30. But even that's a little far fetched.

She's such a non-event in the US, Interscope ****ed up everything for her.

It could probably help her get a Best New Artist VMA since there haven't been many this year

It's really sad. I really like her.

In my dream world she'd win that.. but there's so many new people this year who's debuts crushed hers, fun., Gotye, etc.

Carly, Gotye, fun.

I'm pulling for Gotye.

If Tyler won last year, anything is possible. :smh:

You do know that Missy Elliot and Aaliyah came before that circa 2002?

Yes, but the Timbaland trend was around like 2005-2008.

yezz, Tim's late 90s early 2000s work with Aaliyah really put him on the map.

So your older sister and friends were the perfect age to be Beliebers now.

I'm not talking about JT 2003 and on, I'm talking about him as prince of boy band teen pop

God, LG should have saved the choral arrangement of "Schiesse" for a marketable song, because it's flawless and would slay. Same with the verse arrangement of Electric Chapel. Musically.

Verse arrangement of EC + choral arrangement of Schi + 125bpm instrumental + marketable lyrics = international success.

Maybe we'll still get a song that something like Scheisse or Govt Hooker with radio friendly lyrics.

Kylie off to a fast start on the dance chart. Good bet for future #1
