start with greatest hits compilations, and then find the songs that you liked the most, and listen to the albums from that era

My favorite is: Erotica!

but if ur just getting into her maybe stsrt with: Confessions on a dance floor or Ray of Light

Thank you! I guess I'm gonna listen to these two. They're being praised a lot on GGD

New stan starter pack:
Celebration
Debut album, Madonna
Bedtime Stories
Ray of Light
Music
Confessions on a Dance Floor

Then get into Erotica (her best), American Life (Top 5), and Hard Candy. But the greatest hits is probably the best place to start, highlight what songs you really love and check out their parent albums! :reductive:

Confessions is accessible enough that you may sit through the whole thing and enjoy it, Ray of Light might take some getting used to. It's her only album of the sort, although she sporadically releases eclectic material like on American Life (her best album of the 2000s) and even her previous albums, but sonically, ROL is incredible and truly unique in her discography.

From these two, try:
Hung Up, Sorry, Get Together, Jump, Let It Will Be (Confessions)
Ray of Light, Power of Goodbye, Nothing Really Matters, Swim, Skin (ROL)

If you are into electronic music, there are three eras of Madge that you should listen too.

Her early 90s albums; Bedtime Stories and Erotica. It is more 90s urban electronic sounds. It is very different from her rest of her discography. It is an adventure.

Her late 90s album: Ray Of Light, considered as her magnum opus by many, it is the album that cemented her status as icon. It is offering more clubby kind of electronic sounds. Very ethereal. Since this album were made in her most spiritual era, with her finding religion with Kabbalah and the birth of her first child, Lourdes.

Her early 2000s album: Confessions On A Dance Floor. She brought back old school dance tunes albeit modernized and it worked perfectly well.

And for all  other things in between, you can sample the hit singles from Celebration best album first, and start from there.

Right now I'm listening to Hung Up (listened to this many times before) and boppppping. I also checked to Isaac before Hung Up and it was dead good but the male vocals were a little too much close to the end and boring imo.

She always has a random ass song like that thrown in there :air:

But you will grow to bop to it, I adore Isaac :lolly:

The Immaculate Collection is a great way to introduce yourself to her early work. Plenty of great songs to get you hooked.

Ray Of Light is her finest work, highly recommend you give it a visit as well.

American Life, especially songs such as Nothing Fails, intervention, X-static process. It's one of her most personal albums ever.

Okay so all these are coming from madge fabs, but take my advice coming from someone who like you was trying to discover her music :emma:

Start with Celebration which has her biggest hits (they were hits for a reason), then Rebel Heart because it sounds the freshest and as an appetizer for her sound and voice, then COADF, then Ray Of Light

chaeri pls
