i'm on your side on this one but you made the mistake of qualifying your opinion rather than just giving it and allowing it to stand on the merits of its validity. never fight any demonizing label they put on you whether it be racist, xenophobic or homophobic. let that nonsense slide off your back unaddressed and force them to engage you on your opinions rather than allow their demonization of your character to take precedence in the debate.

Yeah, I don't see it as being disrespectful or even as those guys comparing LGBT struggles with hard fought battles by the Marines  It's just sharing in the spirit of triumph and persistence. Anyone who can get offended by that is actively looking for a reason to be offended

Edit: Besides, our service men and women fought so we'd have the right to make statements like this. If anyone in the service disagrees with this then they don't know what they're fighting for  If the "Support Our Troops" crowd doesn't at least respect their right to do this, they too are clueless as to why our service people sign the government a blank check.
