What if G.U.Y. was performed at the Grammys?

It's good for the fans, but not for the GP

It's not controversial and is dope and is GP-friendly though? I think a lot of EDM stans liked the song.

It would have been amazing.  Whole stage designed by Versace with a pool that Gaga would slither out of.  Covered head to toe in Versace also.  Statues behind her similar to the statues in the Ministry of Magic from Harry Potter.

Would have been magnificent.

It's so hard to think of G.U.Y. getting the public's attention given the circumstances. It almost makes me emotional to think what would happen if it did achieve commercial success because that song is my absolute favourite song. Period. I think of it as like a little sister who always had the potential, but didn't get the chance to prove herself, and now she never will.

This is such a weird post but IT'S THAT GOOD OF A SONG.

Did you know that sonja apparently did the epic talking parts of the song? I always thought it was Gaga with a bit of a huskier voice but apparently it was Sonja :(

Nah. At that point the AP era was really dead so it would not have revived the era or anything.

It would of been a nice thing for us fans to enjoy though.

I'm just in shock that we got a super short pop era again though. I was 100% sure that after the shortness and lack of singles and mvs of the AP era that we'd be in for a nice treat with the Joanne era but instead we still only got 1 and a half singles and 3 mvs.

ARTPOP was only dead because she didn't release a video for DWUW (a song which was promoted) and didn't promote a song which was given a music video (G.U.Y.).

I know she wasn't in good shape at that time, but if she had promoted G.U.Y., it would done much better.

Yes, I agree with you about Joanne but I'm not mad cause she did the Superbowl (which takes up a lot of time for rehearsals and development) and Coachella and shot a high-profile movie with Bradley Cooper, an Oscar favourite.

But they added it to their playlists or bought the song? And I know a lot of people might like it, but no necessarily means it could be a hit. DWUW had everything to be a hit, it's a good song, it has that kind of beat GP loves, for example.

I actually think promotion does the magic of making people like a song, even if the song is not that GP-friendly itself.

Bad Romance, Alejandro for example.

So why radio didn't played it a lot? Why it doesn't have a millions of views? Let's be realistic, it's not that good.

personally, I think G.U.Y. is a fan favorite and extremely overrated by the fans, didn't really see much potential there

She needs to promote DWUW first and then the amazing GYPSY.

She did promote the hell out of Do What U Want. AMAs, SNL, Jingle Bell Ball, Alan Carr, artRAVE, Graham Norton, X Factor, The Voice, and it was a platinum selling single.

The only thing she didn't manage to do was the release of its music video.

Yeah I mean…………the music video is the core so all the performances didn't really count tho

Gaga didn't promote it herself?

It does. It has 131 million views on YouTube, and this is taking into account the fact that it's a song which was not promoted. It would have reached 200 or 250 million views if it was promoted at award shows because radios would pick it up.

I didn't know it has 131 million, but I can get it, most of fans love it, I don't think is for the GP. But why radio didn't played it? Here in Mexico, for example, it didn't exist, nobody knows it, but the fans.

honestly don't think it would have done anything, DWUW was performed so many times and still wasn't enough for it to go top 10, by that time GP was done with ARTPOP, even if she managed to perform G.U.Y at the Grammy's it wouldn't have reached the popularity of Dark Horse or We Found Love, a top 40 maybe and I think that's a reach

Gagadonna

It would have been awkward. I'd prefer she performed Gypsy and made it a single.
