Americans (you in fact) said the same when something in Europe happened

Is the motive important though?

No, Simon is actually right!

The possibility to get shot dead in the USA is so much higher than to die during an Islamist terror attack or any kind of shooting here in Europe.

Nonetheless the US-Administration is giving out "travel warnings" for European countries, where terror attacks occurred...

European terror attacks are a good reason to have a travel warning though. US issued one and there have been already two major terror attacks in the UK.

If this is determined to be terrorism then I don't see the issue with Europe issuing a travel warning.

In fact, Europe had already issued a travel warning for things like the "bathroom bill"

However it is not known yet what this even is so I found it insentive tbh.

So gun violence is a non issue and it's need to be marked as a terrorist attack to be considered as a potential case for a travel warning  ? :oprah:

Gun violence is an issue but if Europe was gonna issue a travel warning they would have done it decades ago don't you think? :air:

It seems like some of you think a travel warning is some sort of offense. It's not. It is a serious warning issued by intel services.

Whispering

Shooter apparently volunteered on Bernie Sander's campaign. Bernie has come out and strongly condemned the attack.

The shooter seems to be an extremist left wing Bernie supporter.

The gun used was a semi-automatic rifle and witnesses say "he had a lot of ammo".

Originally several media outlets were reporting the rifle was "an M4 Carbine", "similar to an M4 Carbine", or "an AR-15".

It's now been confirmed that the weapon used was actually an old SKS rifle. Which is legal in (as far as I'm aware) all 50 states.

I live in Canada and they are selling them by the truckload for $200 (and have been for decades now). I received this flyer not long ago:

The point is that I'm not sure what 'common sense' gun law would have prevented this specific incident.
