It struck me that Burqa's first verse was used in the final album cut

Okay so for this ya'll need to compare the first verse (I'm not a wondering slave...etc) in the various versions of Aura/Burqa:

 

First check the first verse in the (superior version) demo leaked by Boris  with screamo vocals:

Then check the first verse in the recently leaked version of Aura/Burqa

And finally check the first verse in the the final album version:

the first verse on the album has been switched back to the demo vocals of Burqa  instead of the Screamo first verse  

It definitely makes me miffed they switched it back  .

 

That's all, just wanted to point this out

It's like sort of one of my fave songs...but they managed to ruin it by doing this

It struck me too, and even if I hate that choice it's at least relieving to know that the label didn't make her rerecord it but it was more of Gaga's choice I guess

Yes I agree that the screaming version is better though the song is still great, it's not that one change the makes/breaks the song.

I feel the first verse with screamo vocals made the drop come in so much harder than on the final album edit. And for some reason the screaming version made more sense in regard to the theme of the song (the contrast between her Lady Gaga persona and the "real" Stefani Germanotta)...which is nicely showcased in the contrast between the screaming verses with the vulnerable chorus vocals

imho I'd loved if she included Aura's "sister" instrumental in the song in one way or another... like in this mix:

I agree but the final verse is ok as well imo. It's more polished for the final product. ARTPOP is already a very unfriendly album by itself, it doesn;t need more rough vocals to make it harder to listen to I guess (though personally I am full rough vocals team)
