I'm not commenting on something like this until I know the story or the gravity of the situation. The police, as the story stated, found nothing to be alarmed over. It sounds like a group of people saw one incident that could or could not be taken as molestation agreed and ran with it. Again, my issue is with your delivery. It seems, and this Is something we can discuss in private if you care to, that you've gone through something similar therefore you're so passionate about it, but don't let your passions completely shoot down any other valid opposing arguments. This has already been reported because I feel you're taking this way left, so I just hope mods can come deviate as well as they hand out WPs cuz this is ridiculous and as much as I want to contribute I cannot afford any more wps

If my replies to those comments were blunt than so be it. I called one opinion stupid where they tried to marry holding hands with holding a child's crotch as the same thing. Sorry to have offended you but my opinion stays the same. Of course you would report someone with a different opinion than yours contributing to the conversation. I was never once rude unless you consider me calling this situation ridiculous rude? Of course I would report someone?! Are you serious?! You're the second person I have ever reported because I cannot afford the wps so I'm covering my own ass sorry if you cant understand that! Uh, my wps were piled up because I spoke against joanne and other users who attacked me. I'm very versed in having conversations but not when certain members lash out because they have it set in their mind how things should play out. How dare you attack me for being blunt and honest. Are you aware that most cases of molestation are from people the child knows or family members. Maybe if people would report concerns more often instead of trying to rationalize what they see, more children would be rescued. It doesn't matter if you are reporting someone who is man, woman gay, straight, bi, or trans. Let the authorities sort out guilt afterwards. Preach! And the place where molestation happens the most is in public so it makes sense to think he was molesting his child on an airplane in full view of everyone around. River 127,336
Just now, littlepotter said: How is that remotely similar I literally give up. It is, let me explain you why. Speaking Arabic is a daily, normal action of an Arabic person. Same as holding your kid while the kid sleeps for gay parents. One thing is similar for both: they are minorities, some idiotic people hates them and scared of their existence. So when someone is reporting you to the authorities because you did a normal, daily action, while you know that you are a minority, it's prejudice and it's a phobia. From what you said, the employees of United have the right to report an Arabic speaking person, same as checking a gay parent that holding their kid, because United can report about anything that looks suspicious and incorrect to them and it's not a prejudice or phobia. When you are seated by a window you are not in plane view of everyone. Also joking about or sarcasm about a family member publicly molesting a child might actually hurt the feelings of people who have gone through it. The audacity of people to make light of this situation is astounding. You really think a real predator cares if they do it in public or not. In this case the father was not a predator, but what if he had been one. If he was actually doing it in public, and they did nothing to stop it, that would be a big problem. But he wasn't doing anything, and they called social services on him because they are prejudiced. You know what hurts peoples feelings? Saying that it's okay to call social services on gay fathers for holding their kids. No one is making light of molestation, that's a weak arguement to cling too. Several people are making light of prejudice though. "Just let the authorities handle it," isn't a good answer when they can lose out on the right to adopt because of attitudes like yours. "Better safe than sorry" turns into "gays need not apply."

"Better safe than sorry" turns into "gays need not apply." What? You can't cause an altercation with a parent on a flight. The safety of everyone on board would be compromised. What did you want them to do rip the child from his hands mid flight. They handled the situation as best they could, without causing a scene or putting everyone in danger. The situation isn't black and white. There is always the chance that it would be wrong. Also I'm not saying it's OK to call SS on gay fathers for holding their kids. I'm saying the way this father was holding his kid could have been mistaken for inappropriate. And any father straight or gay should have been reported to SS. Stop trying to put words in my mouth.
