"Dark-horse contenders include Halsey’s “Now or Never” and Shawn Mendes’ follow-up to “Mercy,” “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back,” which WHTZ (Z100) New York program director Mark Medina thinks “is going to be a smash at pop radio.” "

I really think radio and stuff is trying to transition and retire the "older" pop girls faster then ever before. They are desperatly trying to make new major popgirls but it is not really working. I think the next really massive popgirl will come out of the blue and we still havn't seen or heard of her yet. Ready to stan ha if she is innovative and shakes the industry the way Gaga did back in the day :diane:

Edge Of Venus

Remember when pop radio was willing to play pop girls in their mid/late 30s and even 40s. :saladga: Madge, Mariah, Janet were snatching radio hits left and right. :saladga: Now they don't even want to touch Bey, Gaga, Britney etc. :saladga:
