Julien Lockhart 853
I discovered Gaga in October 2008 with Poker Face. I hated it the first time I saw it and thought to myself, Who is this b*tch? Then I realized that “Mamama” was stuck in my head all the time, so I looked it up on YouTube And the rest is herstory ! I got hooked on Lady Gaga really quickly; I watched her three music videos on repeat. Then I listened to The Fame, and it was like getting slapped in the face. He ate my heart
Panchecco 17,916
I don't remember exactly the first time listening to the full album. I remember going to sleep with The Fame Monster + TF blasting in my ears and my sisters getting angry because it was so loud that she could hear it from the other room even if I was wearing headphones I remember having the melody of "let's have some fun this beat is sick I wanna take a ride on your disco stick" stuck in my head for days before realizing it was LoveGame. I legit thought I came up with that sick melody Edited 35 minutes ago by Panchecco
River 129,894
It was a weirdly gay awakening, like it released the diva in me that has been dormant after Madonna's Confession hype died. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

TimotheeChalamet 7,159
I randomly listened to the songs in no order and took me like a year or so to do it since I wasn't a Gaga fan yet but more of a casual listener (I was like 13). Then Paparazzi at the VMAs happened and I was eternally sold 1
KLAUS 21
I have two experiences to share: the first is my very first "encounter" with Gaga, and the second is the first time I listened to The Fame I remember EVERY little detail about the exact moment I first saw Lady Gaga on TV. I was 12, just chilling on the sofa, when Poker Face came on. In that very moment, the world stopped. I kid you not. I had never seen or heard anything like it. Who was this weird lady with the catchy tune? There was something dark about her, something utterly captivating. She struck me as some kind of outcast, making weird music and sporting strange looks that somehow made her seem distant and alluring at the same time. Man, I was hooked for life. The Fame: absolutely mind-blowing. I was still 12 at the time, and my brother and I had just gotten a huge stereo CD player for Christmas, along with two albums: The E.N.D. by the Black Eyed Peas and The Fame. We literally CONSUMED both albums, playing them over and over again in our room, but I was especially blown away by how catchy and unique The Fame was. It was also around that age when, you know, you stop being a kid and start becoming a teenager… You become more self-aware, more conscious of the world around you and of your own existence. And I'm sure you can all relate to this: the memories you make around that time really stick with you, almost as if they're engraved in your brain… And The Fame became the soundtrack to that whole awakening for me. I remember being obsessed with album tracks like Money Honey and Paper Gangsta, I felt kinda punk and alternative because I knew these songs while all the other kids at school only knew Paparazzi and Poker Face hahah! They felt like little hidden treasures that only I knew about… Looking back this album definitely played a huge part in shaping who I became, It's crazy to think about how much of an impact a random Christmas gift can have on a kid. Kinda wild when you think about it
Cherry Blues 736
The international release for The Fame was early 2009 - i heard it before Poker Face was released as a single. I remember that i loved Lovegame more than Poker Face at first listening - also loved Paparazzi, Eh Eh, I Like It Rough, Starstruck, Paper Gangsta, Disco Heaven very much. It was good, i liked the album very much - but really flashed i was with The Fame Monster. TheMontebello 1,609
My BFF told me she saw this video on MTV of a crazy woman mount an orca inside an inflatable pool and I had no idea what that was about. Then I heard about her from online music forums, watched Just Dance and was like "so that's the crazy orca woman", watched Poker Face too and that was the start. I remember when Bad Romance leaked and I was gagged, then Alejandro leaked and I gagged again. Good times... The drop of Lovegame/eh eh videos then being GAGAGAGGED by the Paparazzi MV... You like the fat girl I got in me 🍕
gagzus 27,271
My then-best friend introduced me to her, she played me Poker Face and Just Dance in 2008. For Christmas 2008 my dad burned the full album to a CD-ROM for me, and I remember being obsessed from the get go at how futuristic yet nostalgic it sounded. Then I followed her from then on. And went to Galstonbury to see all those songs I loved live.
princedeeblebleble 4,021
I think the first time I listened to The fame in full was when I got The fame monster that included The fame, so I listened to both haha Cause 2bh until the Paparazzi performance on the VMAS I didn't reallllly care about her. I enjoyed most of it, but The fame monster got alot more play.

CYCLOPS 6,466
I don't remember the specifics it's been so long! But I probably got it on LimeWire and put it on my Ipod Nano I remember falling in love with her as soon as I saw the video for Just Dance. I heard about it on the radio, the hosts were calling her vapid and dumb and I remember little 11 year old me thinking "they completely missed the point of the song". Then Poker Face came out, her piano performances charmed me and the rest is history.
