Two TV performances (one on the MTV Awards when they still matters), and the release of the video in the first month since release isn't a missmanagement by any mean. Is perfectly ok.

That's why I said that this fanbase is traumatized. Applause era was ok, but most of people aren't able to see it because it didn't reach #1, all the Perez breakdown thing, and the flop scalping. ARTPOP era was a mess, but didn't started as bad as it ends, not even near.

I envy the Katycats right now. They expected Katy to smash like roar, and then it did worse than Applause charts wise with CTTR, then flopped hard with BA and scrapped all, and rushed a new single, that isn't smashing either but they are happy, and have adapted to the new situation. They have more hope than what us wil never have again, and always try to focus in the positive. Probably they are delusional, but at least they are happy.

Bolded is the point. Applause was okay, but just okay. Right now, we'd likely be ecstatic with an era like that because of the low level of performance we have come to expect. But coming off the back of two of the biggest pop eras in recent memory (three if you consider TF & TFM separately), it was a mess. We were meltdowning here.

She was a promo machine during BTW and to go from that to only one major (and underwhelming, though that was mostly MTVs fault) performance, one daytime TV performance and a video for her highly anticipated lead single that was meant to be her big comeback... It was disappointing.

Luckily radio got on board eventually, otherwise it would've been a disaster. Everyone here recognises that it was a hit, but that doesn't mean there weren't several missteps during the promotional cycle for it. However obviously now we know that there were a lot of troubles during that time with her management that could be to blame for all of that.

Everything since then, however... :neyde:

Even Gaga's Carpool was trending in Germany. :chica: She is truly over this era. Good luck next time, Kathy!

No one cares about that song bc it wasn't a hit in the US. Thats obvious.

Basically this.

I bet y'all are from the US because I still hear that song at parties here in Europe, people obviously care :lolly:

US monsters should acknowledge the fact and there are also other important music markets and EU combined is bigger than the US, so I would take WW hit over US local hit any day :chica:

At this rate Katy should just put the album out quietly, hope at least some critics like it and then get the tour over and done with. This era is a disaster for her commercially and the music is all over the place. People are only talking about her for the wrong reasons and I feel like every time she does a promo spot she makes it worse.

SAVE YOURSELF KATY.

The ones available in Cologne seem to be definitely BEHIND the stage, more than is shown in the official graph :chica:

I know following Gaga was much more fun with TFM and BTW, but she also got sick because the overwork of this eras. She's still a hard working girl, but she's not gonna return to those times again, we have to accept that or will be always frustrated.

She did great promo with MR that sadly only worked in US, but at least worked somewhere. She's a problematic artist regarding singles, that's something that we need to accept, but she's still give all that she have when believe in a song.

Maybe one day she will find the perfect balance, and execute right and straight an era again. At the end of the day I wouldn't change the stunning performaces she gave us with MR to follow another artist with a perfect team and a promotional schedule coldly calculated (what not even secure you smashing, look Katy right now).

Some talented people are problematic, that's it. We fell in love with her also because she was a stunning promo machine, but we still have her talent, good music, and great live performances. She does what she can, and is still good.

I'm not convinced. It'll certainly be better than what it would've been without it, but... Everyone will know why and the second week will speak volumes.
