GMA was WAYYY after the single came out, she had no UK performances, no French performances, nothing. Back then, it was customary that pop stars would promote globally.

TC is tanking 'because' of Gaga. If she really wanted it to smash, she would have promoted the song as much as possible EVEN while shooting ASIB. Gaga is a businesswoman, no one knows the recipe for a hit better than she does. She's been on social media a lot ever since Coachella (and prior to her friend's passing) so she could have managed to tweet the link a few times, keep us 'excited' for the "video", anything!!. The truth is she just doesn't care which is hard for some of us to accept because it's kind of weird that WE care more about her success than she does. I'm sure we know TC's daily Spotify chart position even before they do (assuming they even check it). 

Idk if she has this obsession with not being on top anymore to perhaps prove a point ('I don't write for the charts') or if she just no longer enjoys mainstream/pop music.. anyways, we all know that if she really wanted hits, she'd have hits..

That's why there are Chart Threads  But yeah I'm pretty much agree with most of what you've said.

Tbh I have no idea why a song like The Cure was released if they had no intention of promoting it, with even at least a video. It's the most generic thing and hit-ready sounding thing she's ever released. Maybe they just thought it would be enough on its own?

Idk I'm not too mad though. It's done a lot for her in the UK so I'm happy. But part of me wishes that she would've released something a little more artistically daring if it wasn't really going to be pushed commercially.
