Did you expect the Joanne era?

What I mean by that is, did you ever expect Gaga to be so laid back one day?

Like slowly diminish from the outfits she's known for?

And put out a rawer album?

Or did you think she'd just continue putting out dance pop albums until she stopped making music and basically keep going down the same road that she started on?

Yes! Based off her interviews back in 2015 had me believing she was leaning towards that, then reinvents herself when the other pop girls are tired.

I thought after ARTPOP she would release the new album with RedOne, I was so exicited... But she started work with Ronson and I was like:

And now she released the cure and I'm still waiting for RedOne songs :toofunny:

Did you think I'd show up in a limousine? No

Not at all which i why I was so disappointed. See, Joanne isn't a bad album, but after you tease working with pop hitmaker RedOne and then suddenly release a country/folk record.... :awkney:

Had I known she would go that route musically, I think i would have prepared myself (mentally) for this album and I would appreciate it SO much more because I wouldn't have any "pop-expectations"

I had some disappointment with ARTPOP. Not because it was bad (it's pretty good in my book) but that it was expected. I enjoyed being pleasantly surprised with C2C (Gaga isn't the best jazz vocalist but she's convincing enough) and Joanne (great album!).

Yeah I enjoyed C2C and love most of Joanne. But ARTPOP just has this epic peak with DWUW and rest just dwindles :poot:

Not that this thread is about ARTPOP though. :toofunny: so yeah I expected and enjoyed Joanne :gaysia:

No I thought she was gonna go rock before country/folk. I didn't really enjoy Joanne but I do appreciate what it is.

bloody g

YES. I was expecting a short light pop era to regain the GP. :giggle:

What I wasn't expecting were the country vibes. It was a great era anyways. Million Reasons is my favourite song by her now
