What we need to remember is that the charts are not indicative of quality and that the charts are based on opinion. That doesn't mean to say that the charts don't have quality songs on them, but people aren't actively searching out quality and analysing things when they listen to the radio and so on, if they like a song for whichever reason then that's that  You can work extremely hard and not land anywhere in the top 1000 or you can basically have everyone do it for you and get a top 5, it's just the reality of the charts and I think after the fickle and unpredictable nature of it is accepted and gotten over then mentally and emotionally we're already in a much better place  We stop giving importance to it and getting upset/angry over it. If something we like performs well then yes it does feel good and it's great to celebrate, but getting down over percieved underperformance doesn't do anyone any good or help anything either :ohno: All we can hope for is that Gaga continues making music that she wants and that she's enjoying herself and that what she releases falls in line with what we enjoy as well because then it's even better for us :laughga: If other people are liking it enough to make it a smash then that's awesome, but if not then whatever, we're still getting the music at the end of the day

It seriously pisses me off that Gaga is disrespected, called a fad and only experienced 2008-2011 making legitimate hits. It hurts a lot when other fanbases make fun of us because there's no receipts anymore. I can't use singles, albums, critical acclaim. It's all just my opinion. It's terrible.

Yeah, but why aren't we getting critical acclaim? It's so hard to like a person that gets made fun of.

As I remember Applause was quite big :classy:

But ultimately got overshadowed, it was tragic and heartbreaking to see Ro*r and Bl***ed Lines beat it.

Because people judge musical quality according to the charts, and Gaga puts in work, wouldn't it make you mad to see someone put in a ton of work into a project only to get a B- while someone who cheated gets an A+?

Actually, 1) there is no evidence that Gaga works harder than other people, or that all her peers don't put in the hours that she does; that's just your bias because you follow her every move, and 2) people do not judge music quality according to the charts. No one thought higher of the Black Eyed Peas because of their string of hits. Again, just seems to me that the people who want Gaga to have massive hits are just trying to live vicariously through her success because of some sort of weird self-validation kick. Not everyone shares your taste, or needs to. Gaga's massively successful and will continue to be, #1 or not. Beyonce says hi.

Bragging rights aren't worth the worry. In the grander scheme of things it doesn't mean anything. It's literally what Gaga said during the ARTPOP era = #StopTheDrama #StartTheMusic

Why are you judging your liking of Gaga on whether other people like her or not? :S

You can pretty much extend this to everyone here who's upset that she doesn't make #1 hits anymore

your own opinion is all that matters anyway.  Everything else is just stupid stan war bullshit.  You want to quit worrying about how Gaga is respected or what other fanbases say?  Don't participate and recognize that it all stems from a childish need for validation from people that aren't strong enough in their own selves.

I just hate the bias against her. Nothing is ever fair.

This. I don't care if she has a hit as long as the music is on par with what she's given us. People here can try the argument that the music just isn't good, but please, what Gaga produces is at least better than most of the unimaginative dreck that floods the charts.

the sheer number of GGD users that claim that if Gaga releases "good" music she'd be popular just points out how many fans are really the "GP" in disguise in terms of their music taste.

Okay no offense, but if you need to censor names of pop songs I think you need to get your priorities fixed.

Been a long time but I'm back in town, and this time I'm not leaving without you

Why does everything I like become uncool to the GP? It's like the tenth time this has happened.

ask yourself why it is so important to you to be considered "cool."  Gaga never intended to appeal to the "cool" kids anyway.

I'm assuming you are young...eventually you will grow up and realize how banal all the drama about pop stars is in terms of the real world.
