Why Can't We Have A Legitimate Smash?

It's so frustrating, I just don't understand why we can't get a #1 single that becomes a signature Gaga hit and reaches 1 billion views on vevo. I started stanning hardcore around the time Judas was released and nothing after that managed to become a smash on par with Gaga's earliest singles. Am I cursed? Should I unstan so The Cure can smash?

Gaga's just not "cool" anymore. I think we should just learn to deal with it. Kids don't listen to this type of music anymore, and the only way I see her smashing is taking something like a 5 year hiatus and then promoting the crap out of the song week 1. It would die the next week tho, it's so sad

Because the singles haven't been interesting/good/trendy/fun/smart enough since the ARTPOP/BTW era. Imo Applause is her last really strong single (DWUW is great but it only didn't smash because it didn't have a video)

The Cure is the weakest Gaga single of all times imo

I agree single choice has been a huge problem, even in the BTW era. Scheiße would've done better than You and I and Judas.

I´m ok with this ´curse´ never being broken as long as Gaga is comfortable with not having a big hit but still is inspired to release great music on a regular basis and tour the world. Most of my favourite bands/artists don't have hits anymore.

It does frustrate me that The Cure has so much potential but isn't really promoted that much. There's always so many mixed messages coming from Gaga and her team when it comes to marketing. Personally, I'm not here for emoji's, merch and a fansite she doesn't use, i'd rather have them focus on her music.

This. I don't care if she has a hit as long as the music is on par with what she's given us. People here can try the argument that the music just isn't good, but please, what Gaga produces is at least better than most of the unimaginative dreck that floods the charts.
