Swine and Donatella are EXACTLY what we heard before...
alejandreaux 1,053
Born This Way as an album was definitely ahead of its time in how it helped shape the way people in mainstream culture view LGBT issues. we only started to truly become accepted in the mainstream in the early 2010s, and BTW was the boldest step anyone in the music industry had taken help that happen. The Fame also helped EDM to explode into the mainstream in the early 2010s. even though it wasn't the first EDM album by a mainstream artist (Confessions on a Dancefloor, Blackout, Good Girl Gone Bad, etc) it was the one that truly made it become massive and the new "trend" that every artist had to try out. I think Gaga fans just think DWY was something new because they don't remember hundreds of r'n'b hits that were huge ten years earlier.
Lord Temptation 11,209
Analysis of ARTPOP as something...out of this world Aura - incorporates Western (as in country and western), dub and industrial; lyrics are a dialogue between two women about freedom Venus - psychedelic techno pop about love, devotion and the universe Do What U Want - samples a futuristic beat from song about death, mixes it with early 90s Michael Jackson new jack swing R&B style-vocals, and utilises tropical house melodies in the prechorus and bridge (two years before it became mainstream) in a song with a double meaning. Exactly. Out of this world. Ahead of the time.
