loling at all the replies in this thread

I don't wanna be the one who ruins the fun but i feel the need to say this - as a hongkonger i wouldn't want her to be dragged into this. us being handed back to china isn't something worth celebrating to begin with.

As much as i wanna see her live again i'd rather have some JWT Hong Kong dates instead of having her performing at this kind of "celebratory" concerts, and "help" us celebrate something we (especially the younger generation) don't really wanna celebrate.

Totally agree fellow Hong Konger. Gaga celebrating the 20th anniversary of the handover isn't very Born This Way of her. I'd rather her not come if that's what they have planned. Most of the educated/young people here are more pro democracy/pro independence. Gaga should NOT be a part of anything celebrating the handover. It's not just a political stance, it's because the Chinese government is completely opposite of what Gaga stands for. If she decides to come on terms like that I am seriously unstanning. Not a joke. Like I will start to hate her.

Spoiler

Mess at Jack Ma also owning the referenced newspaper SCMP. :toofunny: the decay of the paper since its Chinese takeover :toofunny: he bought last HK's trustworthy news outlet :toofunny:

And yes. I AM ALL PRO INDEPENDENCE. ARREST ME!:nails:

and to answer some of your questions, no, she isn't banned in Hong Kong. We (still) have our own law (until 2047+ hopefully).

And Gaga if you are reading this, come to Hong Kong, on your own terms, there are many helpless rebellious little monsters here. You need to come and CURE our city (country, I wish).

Seriously though, I think Hong Kong has something with Lady Gaga ! I've been here for a month and I see/hear her everywhere !

- I saw Joanne in the "best selling albums" section of a music store
- I heard Perfect Illusion in IKEA (first time I've heard Perfect Illusion on the radio !)
- I heard a few songs being played on a speaker on a market : Poker Face, then there was some weird remixed-karaoke version of Bad Romance so I left and when I came back then was Money Honey
- I heard Aura in a computer store

I didn't want to make a whole thread about it but I wanted to share it !

I constantly see her VSFS performances in computer malls used as demos for displays.

I heard Sexxx Dreams at one of the straightest bar in LKF area.

ARTPOP still one of the best selling vinyls.

Mcdonalds playing Million Reasons soooooo much.

after all she sold out 4 shows (10000people each) in our small city of just 7 million of population and English pop songs aren't even that popular here. (Ed Sheeran sold a 6000 people venue, Madonna only had 2 shows).

SHE HAS TO COME...
