Ugh it sounds like a time to be alive. I have a sealed copy of the book. Its my most prized  possession :toofunny:

Yeah I understand, like I said everyone, fans and not fans wanted to have that book.

Personally I didn't have an issue with it, I was a teen and free with my body too, walking around in the house naked and stuff (with my parents being there), so I didn't really see the point of the discussion but looking back on what times it was I understand why it was so challenging.

Remember when gaga owns the charts? like no one dares to release new stuff if gaga is on her way to release some new material? I wonder what could've happened when streaming is a thing back then, Bad Romance must've been #1 in the US for like 12151657 weeks! She was the queen of Youtube, Twitter, Facebook etc. (how i wish she still have those powers)

Anyway,  she have diamonds (10x platinum) songs that other artists don't have.  (Poker Face, Just Dance and Bad Romance) :firega:

Fixedt.

At this rate, I won't be surprised if in a few years billboard will simply copy paste the spotify top 100 charts ..

You can't get a hit if you don't pay to have it. You have to pay money to earn money with your product that's the industry nowadays. No matter how good you are, you can make trash and pay so it will be a hit. Like CTTR flopped but it's played on the radio all the time, what a coincidence huh? It's not that they play what people want to listen, they play what they are being paid to play you

¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

I'm having a meltdown. I hate the state the music industry is in. I hate th everything this era has felt like an uphill battle. Ed Sheeran, and the slew of urban artists get viral hits so easily. It seems like if your music isn't urban and you're not collabing with a ton of people you can't get a hit. It's just frustrating I'm so many levels. It seems like monsters have to try so hard to get Gaga half as high in the charts these days. I know it shouldn't bother me, but I've been standing Gaga since I was 13.

Literally me everyday since 2013. That's why l just be listening to oldies lately

What's missing to me is the love for music from artists. I think what some people forgot about Joanne is that yes it is country/pop, yes country isn't popular it isn't trendy but that tells you a lot bout Gaga as an artist, she makes most of her music out of love, passion, and to me most artist of this generation they are here to get some $$$ flow. This is why r&b is lost, it's drowning in tropical dance beats and dance music. This is why rap is lost, drown by pop and dance. There's no passion, no love, and I think most people, or most human beings can sense that, unless you're a robot you'd be please with the state of the music industry right now. It's almost 2020, and no artist to me, personally, my opinion, has done **** for the culture, for our generation. We have no Michael Jackson, no Elvis, no big star that changed music forever, maybe it's rare, but I doubt it because since the fifties every era there's been someone trying to do it better, being unique, talented. Maybe it has to do with the fact that anyone can become a "rapper" nowadays, or a singer. Look at Selena Gomez, is she talented? No, but she's having a pretty successful career so far. My point is talent doesn't matter, the priority is to be marketable, to get some $$$. Back then, in the fifties singers like B.B King had to prove themselves to the public, build an audience, if your voice sucked nobody would listen to you, and there were no autotune or background noise to mask your lack of talent. Most singers had a deep love of music, where it usually started in churches, singing in choirs or discovering the guitar, piano. It was more authentic, and no matter what you think, we as human can always feel when something is fake, when something is coming out of love and passion and I miss that. I really miss it and I hope in couple years it'll change.

I don't really care about the charts, but I can't stand most of the popular music these days. None of it is going to last, it's all fake, everything sounds the same I factually can't stand it.

Excuse you, you're on a fan forum for this generation's MJ/Elvis.

I'm frustrated too, everyone nowadays is sheiße.  The only people I can still stand to listen to are literally Gaga, Miley, and Britney (not a stan but Glory deserved better).

Go get a cocktail and move on :classy:

I used to be so upset when Gaga wasn't on top but I kinda just got over it, it's pointless to worry so much about things that are out of your control.

Currently listening to Joanne

Agreed! That being said, If you don't promote your own single like at all then there's no chance of it smashing... I get that she's shooting a movie and needs to be 100% concentrated but that will definitely not help her single chart higher. Gaga missed the beginning of the streaming era which means she will need to work 10 x harder, have 10 x more promo just have the visibility of her contemporaries aka Rihana, Katy, Beyonce, etc. Doing C2C and Joanne was an amazing way to legitimize her versatility and talent but it also caused her to be much much less relevant than before

Stop the music, Start the drama.

It's painful but it's the new normal. And it's not just Gaga that's suffering. Look at Katy's tragic numbers. I bet even Miley will flop next. Nowadays it's all about Drake and Ew Sheeran and I hate it :neyde:

Agreed, it's an unfortunate but natural change in the music world.

We're on the brink of a new shift in music. What is popular now is more urban, more RnB and prefers males.

The pop era that started ~2007 ish where females and dance pop ruled is dead. There will still be dance hits, but they'll just be harder to get.
