Dorothy Gale 7,575
It seems like every time a new indie pop girl comes onto the scene Gagadaily obsesses over her, and says she's the new Gaga. For instance, they'll make a thread titled "Is Dallie LarXa the new Gaga?" and when I tell them that she's not and no one outside of atrl knows her they meltdown at me and start calling Gaga a flop, all in an attempt to prop up someone supposedly following in her footsteps. dopega 3,732
I've never liked when people compare an artist to some other artist. They all kinda have their own thing, and when it comes to Gaga I feel like no one will be able to be as innovative as she was at the beginning of her career. juju 18,907
Anyone remotely "artistic" is labeled as the new "Gaga", it's bound to happen considering her impact on the scene. But it's funny to think - we're no longer looking for the new "Madonna", it's immediately the new "Gaga". And people say she's had no impact But I think what it boils down to, is people are always thirsty for that "next". Few female pop stars have stuck around since Gaga's climb to fame - the only staples I can think of is Adele and Nicki Minaj and, on a lesser scale, Kesha and even Lorde. The others have had their 15 minutes and faded, sadly. ❤ x ❤

Actually Ariana Grande should be in your list next to Adele & Nicki. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

Ariana hasn't really done anything to prove herself a long-while contender, she's in that class with Selena and Demi. If anyone out of that group has what it takes and is a trendsetter, it would be Miley I know y'all monsters love Ariana, and that's cute and all, but she will fade. She doesn't have the chart records of Nicki or the awards of Adele, she's not on that level and I doubt she ever will be. ❤ x ❤

I'm not a fan of any of those girls lol I was just simply saying that my generation (I'm 19) connects way more with Ariana than with Lorde. Awards and critics praise don't mean anything if success doesn't follow it. Lorde has taken way too much time to release her second album. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

Well I won't argue about the Lorde part because she hasn't really done anything to deserve half the praise, she was merely an afterthought I added after the fact ❤ x ❤
