I imagine it's upsetting for your society's values to rapidly shift in a direction you were raised to believe were immoral.

I don't agree with this man on any political or social issue, but I don't think his tears and conviction make him a "moron," "disgusting," or someone with a "low IQ."

Of course it doesn't make him a moron with low IQ. On the contrary it makes him a shrewd manipulator who knows exactly how to play to the gallery full of morons with low IQ.
