Yes, and Gaga is consistently inconsistent. At this point, anyone paying attention (fan or not) knows better than to expect one particular thing from her. I mean Gaga went from a party girl image, to avant garde pop star, political activist, experimental artist working with Robert Wilson, jazz standard singer, actress, country-pop songstress and more. The GP is still clinging to the Gaga that wore a meat dress no matter what she does. But the thing is she would never change that. She'll always be that artist that always changes. 2017: She went from Million Reasons to the Cure. Enough said.
PopBitch 1,218
That's like saying David Bowie should have gone back to David Jones and lose his trademark Bowie, Bono back to Paul Hewson, Elton John back to Reginald Dwight.

prince 4,688
Artists evolve and if they were going to change their official stage name every time they had some form of reinvention then every artist under the sun would be under different names. Everyone wants to see someone evolve not change names and personality every 5 minutes
TheKillerQueen 1,983
NO. Lady GaGa is who I first fell in love with. It wouldn't feel right for her to drop her iconic name. Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.

But she'd be the exact same person. You would really stop following an artist over something as simple as a stage name?

If the GP don't understand that then too damn bad for them. Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

He put out an album before that as David Bowie and after of course. He was always David Bowie from Hunky Dory on. Ziggy was a character on an album that he killed off. Gaga has put out six albums under Lady Gaga (including Cheek to Cheek). And look at the album cover of the Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust. David Bowie. Ok I get your point, but I still think Gaga needs to restore her brand. Cultural capital is so important to be succesful.

Illuminati 15,921
Stefani Germanotta is not memorable or all that unique. I'd be here for her to just become Gaga though.
Neight Shayde 7,925
do you know how much weight that name has nowadays? Legends know her name. I'd rather her get alter egos a la Ziggy Stardust than delete "Lady Gaga" completely.
