Groundbreaking post...

Some people actually wouldn't like Chained To The Rhythm no matter who put it out? Just like many don't like The Cure.

If stans are ruining music for you, get off a forum.

This post wasn't directed at everyone. Simply the people that blindly stan for someone and harass others who disagree with them.

Nah I have to disagree. Pop stans/twitter stans tend to harass pop artists unlike any rock artists or professional athletes. Pop Stars have to have very thick skin because of rude stans.

I completely disagree :rip:

You've never been involved in sports rivalries, have you? Those extremes end up in fist fights and vandalism, not sassy comments on twitter.

I don't entirely agree. While I dislike The Chainsmokers, they have released good songs. Roses and Don't Let Me Down were very good, but it seems like from Closer to present day they've just released garbage.

We all know Katy Perry is capable of being a great pop singer. We saw that in Teenage Dream and portions of Prism. Chained to the Rhythm is not to standard.

Gaga isn't perfect, she has songs that certainly don't represent her caliber. I honestly feel like most admit that.

I guess I just really object to this idea that if Gaga released CTTR that we would love it. I doubt it. I think we would all be very disappointed and fee it were far below her standards. Perhaps you make a point about The Chainsmokers, but I still think most would consider The Cure an improvement to Paris and Closer, as at least Drew Taggart wouldn't be ruining it with his vocals.

It'll never change. At the end of the day just take your own opinions and don't focus on others. Sites like this will always be like this

I think a big problem is that a lot of artists do themselves no favours when it comes to how they relate to other artists. They're shading them in interviews and going to war with them on Twitter. If your fave is the target of that, you're not going to like the artist who was responsible for it. One of the reasons I stopped being an Xtina fan was because she started being hateful towards Gaga, who she was convinced had copied her. Even her teaming up with her for that DWUW remix didn't make it completely better. I dislike Katy because of the underhanded tactics she used towards Gaga during the Prism vs. AP eras and this is why I'm still happy when she flops, however childish that is. Same goes for The Chainsmokers. And Ed Sheeran. And every other artist who's tried to be mean to her for publicity (how I love Gaga for making that "live off your own hustle #ido" tweet, that was badass). I forgave Lana for her earlier Gaga bashes with that I'm So Legit song because she had reason to feel annoyed that she was essentially dumped for a highly mainstream artist and she's totally different now and has even associated with Gaga (and she's got amazing talent and I could never not stop loving her music). But everyone else has to be mindful about who they're bashing.

Yes, it's all a bit childish, but we're all guilty of that. No one is completely mature. It's just human nature to defend your faves, especially ones whose music has shaped years of your life. I'm very much a supporter of the saying: "No one insults the people I love and respect and gets away with it." Now, I'm not going to resort to tracking down random civilian haters and calling them out, that's pointless, members of the public have a right to their opinion as we buy the music. But I take a very harsh line on other singers bashing Gaga because as artists themselves, they should really know better than to bring down their own kind. If you make a point of being nasty to fellow singers for no reason other than jealousy or bitterness, then you don't deserve success, in my book. We wouldn't like people who go around bashing their colleagues, would we? We'd freeze them out and not want to associate with them if they did. Why should we treat celebrities any different?

Like if Gaga Released Chained To The Rhythm, YOU ALL WOULD LOVE IT.   And if The Chainsmokers released The Cure with a different singer, y'all would hate it!

100% fact about a lot of fans. If Katy released the Cure, people would be like "omg Im so not shook, such trash, so generic, etc"

LOLZ.

The Cure was the perfect example, so much hate for The Chainsmokers and then Gaga releases a very similar mainstream song and the vast majority of this site stans for it it and titles it her "best song in years" (not even close btw :madge:
