the cure is a disaster. Obviously it could recover but seems like another minor hit or nothing song. Seems GP is done with her for the most part. Luckily I am not.

I think you're really wrong. With even a LITTLE bit of promo The Cure would blow up. It's doing well in Canada/UK/Australia and it's gaining on radio in the US and stable on Spotify. The only way it will be a minor hit or nothing is if Gaga lets it be that way and we'll mostly have her to blame.

Katy once again blue balling me tbh I just listened and it sounds like the chorus is missing. Exactly how CTTR makes me feel. (Also PI Til I forced myself)

I possibly agree but I mean in real actual life the cure is a disaster on the charts in my opinion. There is no promo so this is what reality is. Mediocre positions on all charts. Promo would be great or she could sell her soul to the devil for a handful of spins/streams but she doesn't seem to promo singles anymore in effective ways. Maybe she'll crank it up in summer and do great, that's my dream. I'll keep hoping but I won't hold my breath and I hope you don't either.

But she's climbing on the charts from last week to this week? I think she'll do well with this if she puts effort. Otherwise it will fizzle in June. Praying she promotes.

I'm not even kidding, there are 1,440 minutes in a day, and I legitimately leave one of my phones on continuously streaming The Cure on loop. The Cure is 3:29 minutes long. That means I've streamed it about 411 times. That's about 20% of the total of the country??? :ladyhaha:

Yes I think we're on the same page I'm just being blunt rn lol I'm hoping/wishing it can pick up and think it's capable. Was basically just saying it seems borderline impossible for her to get a monster hit at this point like one of her old ones.

I am drinking, but also what would you say if Katy perry or Beyoncé or Ariana dropped a surprise single at Coachella and it debuted at 39 and was not doing anything 2 weeks later? This whole thread (maybe not you) would be laughing, so it's just actually logically silly to act like the cure is doing great right now. To me it seems she is done having huge chart hits, but I'm not upset or anything. She's 31 and female pop stars don't usually dominate the charts then. I'm still enjoying her music and chart runs.

I wouldn't be surpised actually if they got the same treatment. I mean I know Coachella was livestreamed but i don't think most people watching were just randomly sitting at home watching it just because. Most of them had to be stans of the different performers that night. Also it was surprise single... I'm not saying is doing GREAT in the US but it's not doing that tragic for a song that only had Hot tracks treatment and a few banners. It's just begining to rise on radio so I'm confident it'll start doing better. But I get your point about females pop stars usually not having much of an impact past a certain age :madge: which is obviously stupid.

it's still so early for the song in the US, you gotta give her at least 4/5 weeks until you label it anything. The charts don't move that fast.

The cure is doing well in all the major markets besides America and even in America it's probably her most successful song on Spotify so it's improving her streaming so I don't understand some of you calling it a "disaster" it's had no promo and it's doing fine in other countries. The UK the us and aus all have the same music taste so if it does well over their there's no reason it can't in America the countries in south   America are the ones you should be worried about with this song seeing how it's doing there. Yall remember the roller coaster Mr was? And how it was number one on iTunes for weeks but couldn't even enter the bb top 20 and it did poorly in almost every country besides us canada and Italy so like calm down radio is actually playing the song and her streaming is increasing

I just meant so far it hasn't taken off, like all of the other singles lately upon release. It's an anomaly for A list celebrities to have sleeper hits so the longer it takes, the less likely it is. Sure hope I'm wrong and it's #1 for 8 weeks and you all think I'm a fool, but I won't anticipate it for the reasons mentioned in my other posts. I am optimistic and hopeful but in 3 months if it's still performing like this I won't be holding out for the next big event like radio impact date, music video, etc. Hopefully it grows organically.
