Shocking Undercover Images Of Belgian Slaughterhouse

I think honestly, where this thread went wrong was when it veered into dietary habits.

Anything that ends in meat eaters vs vegans is just asking for the thread to be closed.

What should've been the main point of the thread was focusing on the cruelties of this Belgian slaughterhouse. That is it.

Videos like this are common all over the world, and there are many in America. It isn't about dietary habits, its an entire lifestyle of abstaining from animal products because this is where it all comes from. It's completely relevant to bring up veganism, and as you can see I didn't even bring it up in my post, it came naturally from the exposure of what the animals go through. I also posted a film in another comment called Earthlings, which contains footage of factories all around the world, this isn't an isolated event or company.

Well the main point of bring up these videos is usually to bring up switching to veganism, is it not? It a subconscious thing, especially since you mention in your first post "where your food come from".

It's nice to know that there are people who won't turn a blind eye. But veganism may just not appeal to everyone.

But you are a nice kind person Anastasia, but those who are truly interested will learn on their own or seeks others. These rather brute force tactics are why vegans don't have good wrap. Even when I think of vegans, I'm reminded of Christians who go up to doorsteps and ask if people if they have heard the good news.

This is hardly a brute tactic, and these videos have converted MANY people. Just because it doesn't work for you or many others doesn't mean it should be ignored, the big difference between a vegan and a Christian is that vegans use facts and reality, Christians use belief and faith. Videos like this get people aware, and they should be spread. There's a saying that if factory farms had glass walls, everyone would be vegan, and I truly believe that is the truth for the majority of society. Its videos and information like this that made me switch overnight, and many others.

I consider it brute force tactics. It's using shock value.

That saying is rather wrong, since I know many people, including myself, who can turn blind eyes and ignore what's right in front of me.

For many, overnight doesn't work, if veganism works at all. I know I can't do veganism, mostly due to the fact I hate most vegetables when cooked. I dislike many things based upon texture, and cooked vegetables to me are just blargh.

It's nice that you spread the word and have such high beliefs such things, but really, there is point you have to know, you have to stop with some people.

I understand people eat meat, pork, chicken, etc but why beat, kick, boil alive, and bleed them out such a barbaric way? It's like those people enjoyed it... :cryga:

Not only does veganism improve the lives of animals and the person's health, but it helps our whole environment.  Being a vegan/vegetarian helps save SO much water and other aspects of our environment.

Given that we have the technology to now, I don't understand why we don't put more effort into growing meat from cells in labs.  People who eat meat can still have their same meat without having to support this awful industry.

Sorry to break it to you people, but taking the life of an animal that doesn't want to die is never going to be humane or pretty. If you're going to eat meat, then the least you can do is see what "your dinner" went through. If this video makes you sick, then stop paying people to do this.

And yes, veganism is completely relevant when discussing this video. Why does educating people on a lifestyle that eliminates animal abuse, promotes compassion, betters the environment and improves health infuriate people so much? Are people really that opposed to the idea that they might have to make a change?

It's not hard to connect the dots. Who the hell enjoys watching animals be brutally murdered and tortured? :interestinga:

I've never even abused animals. Saying it entertained me doesn't account for me as being one of them. Now I don't need to explain myself any more to you :ladyhaha:

Everyone on this thread are so judgemental, I'm shooketh :ladyhaha:

This reminds me of one user from across all platforms on the web who goes by, Rude Boy. I'm still shaking about the thought of him :toofunny:
