THANK YOU everyone stop being salty because Ed Sheeran “shaded” Gaga. This album is great and I’m glad that @troybrooks doesn't have his head up his ass. Grow up everyone the album is better than most albums released in 2017 so far.

i guess he's also gonna flop and it'll be of historic proportions, because "they build you up to tear you down." he should be taking notes from gagz instead of shading her.

if you hurt taylor swift, i'll hurt you back

I really love Divide. You guys should give it a shot. It's lyrically his best album. He went away from the world for a year and wrote this without anything.

Lyrically his best ? Not for me , + (Plus) remains a lyrical masterpiece. Divide is his most diverse I'd say and he gets to play with new sounds, so maybe sonically his best, for me at least.

I haven't listened to the entire album yet but out of the 4 songs he's released, Eraser's the only one I really like so far. But I can see why it does well. The public love basic songs about 'relatable' (a byword for cliched) stuff. I simply don't understand what's to love about a basic beat with no depth and songs with not much emotion behind them. Ed's at his best when he's writing about really serious stuff. The A Team and The Man are some of my favourite songs from him because there's amazing, heartstring-tugging lyrics there, even if I personally can't relate. This is really the only kind of songs from the 'white guy with acoustic guitar' genre (as ToddInTheShadows would say) that I like. Lucy Spraggan from the X Factor is like a female Ed Sheeran and I prefer her more because a lot of her music concerns deep, serious, sad stuff that moves me. Gang-related murder, suicide, the story of a person's life from birth until death. Those kind of topics is what is deeply affecting when performed in a stripped-back, acoustic style. Some people who make this kind of music come from working class, deprived backgrounds, so it makes sense that their music mirrors the reality of life. But so many people in this genre don't want to do that serious confessional stuff. They just want to give you cliched songs about being in love or breaking up. Pop songs, basically, but more stripped back and with a lot more 'down to earth' references (especially if they're British). Its become so tired and predictable. When will people stop eating it up and demand something more?

No, I don't and won't like his mediocre album and it's not because he 'shaded' Gaga, it's because his album is average and his personality lately hasn't been making it any better.

Keep IT. :wtf:

Supermarket flowers and all the simple details made me feel like I was in the room with him when his mom passed away. It was some good stuff.

Lady Palutena

I don't know much about him, only that he covered Sia's "The Greatest", which I didn't personally care for.

As the great Mariah Carey once said "I wish everyone the best of luck and if this is a career path that they choose I hope that they can achieve longevity."

Adoremus in caelum, Palutena. Dea luminis.

That J

He does absolutely nothing for me and it has nothing to do with his shades, although that's just one more unattractive thing about him IMO.    He just seems like a placeholder in the adult contemporary category until The First Gay Male Ever (aka Sam Smith) returns.
